probably because the only people left playing it are the old diehards who buy anything with the IP name slapped on it, Square has basically worked overtime to alienate any actual Final Fantasy/RPG fans from the brand by trying to appeal to every demographic but that one. those people are buying games like Baldur's Gate and the Yakuza RPG games like in your pic.
