>>715906949Pixel art of ye olde was the outcome of limitation where they crafted sprites using all kinds of techniques and illusions to appear more detailed than what they actually are with the aim of looking as close to their raw art as possible, meaning actual art existed before the pixelated sprites were made.
This is in conflict with the modern pixel fag who makes pixel art not only absent of the aforementioned technical tricks but without a base set of art. Modern pixel art is not trying to create impossible small renditions of something larger. It is mistaken as an art style by these fags. Pixel art is not a style. It is an improvisation brought on by limitation. No such limitation is present when your aim is pixelated sprites from the start.
To make this worse, in place of tricks they have lighting, shading, and various other forms of post composition and filters thrown on top. This is a far cry from ye olden pixel art where such effects were done manually and faked to accentuate the sprites depending on what was needed for a envisioned goal.
