the connection would micro-lag randomly, even when wired. like it would act like it was disconnected for half a second, then go back to working. updating soft and firmware didnt fix it and i couldnt find other people online with the same issue so i just chalked it up to a loss. i bought it like a month after they released though, so it lasted a decent amount of time.

Picked this up for 30 bucks recently after the L button on my Vader 4 Pro got fucked up from playing too much parryslop. I'm loving it so far, it literally feels like a cheaper version of the Vader 3/4, so it's absolutely fantastic for the price.

After my old xbox controller started drifting, I got a wired 8-bit, I just didn't like how the controller grips turn inward.
I now have the Cyclone 2 (picture) and it is great, especially since I paid $43 for it. I really like the micro switch triggers.

I haven't gotten around to play anything 2D with it yet, but it seems decent for a cross dpad. maybe not the best, but decent. if dpad is really important to you, you might want to do more research maybe for another model.

I bought two of these. First one bumper buttons stopped working. Tried everything to fix it but nothing could save it.

Second one has some kind of weird input read sometimes where my character will face left after running right when I never pressed left. Can make certain interactions needlessly hard.

I love the ergonomics and comfy grips, and the extra buttons are great but I wouldn't buy a third one because the core mechanics of the controller are simply not good enough for the price.

The funny thing is I'm not even a heavy user. I play with mouse and keyboard on anything that isnt a third person action game or side scroller.

Got it on sale, it also fits my specific arrangement of devices (PS2/3/4 and PC). It also works with the Switch if you update the firmware. Only thing it doesn't do is sixaxis for the 5 PS3 games that used it. Not a fan of how cheap and light it feels but it's a reliable controller, and their support is pretty good

Yeah, I'm looking at it now, and I'll probably pass on it unless they release a nice color like the yellow Ultimate 2 I got. I'm also sick of the charging docks on all their recent shit. I like have one cable to charge my devices. I don't need more usb c cables sticking out of my computer

I have ding dong 2 pro. My biggest complain is the high latency due to low pollrate via BT and shitty D-pad. This is why I use it over USB.
I haven't experienced any other issues and I own it for over 4 years at this point.

BT 5.0 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi use the same bandwidth.
The problem is low polling rate of that controller via BT, it's ~80Hz last time I checked. I updated firmware.
It's very noticeable while using analog sticks.

I have a Tarantula Pro and whatever the fuck their white Xbox controller with hall effect sticks is called. They both feel better quality than my previous Dualsense and Xbox controllers, that's not a sterling endorsement though since both Microsoft and Sony have been putting out absolute dogshit controllers after the PS3/360 era. The big thing that sold me on them is that the USB-C slot has built-in support for the cable, because apparently that's the only way to make a USB-C connection not shit itself after a few months.

I can agree, it's objectively better than every other controller on the market with a similar Asymmetrical Xpad design.

The kicker is it will have something break every year so only the truly wealthy can afford to replace it or fix it so often.

I changed BT dongles multiple times because cheap ones could not sustain good signal at 2 meters.
But if you have motherboard with build in Wi-Fi and external antenna your BT should work just fine.
Even craptops don't have this problem for the most part.

Depends on if there'll ever be a yellow one that you don't have to 3D print yourself, though Etsy has your back even in that event. I have some convex stick tops for Retroid Pocket and Odin systems from Etsy and I love 'em, some guy out of Indiana who has an enormous number of styles based on other consoles and controllers to pick from.

I bought mine in 2010 and it worked up until 2019, by the end the battery compartment was fucked up and stick drift was getting unbearable.
Not to mention the rubber on the sticks just disintegrated.
D-pad was always dreadful, just the worst d-pad I ever experienced.
It's sitting in my drawer, nasty as fuck.
