I just happened to read through Naruto for the first time ever. I watched it as a kid up to shitpuuden and got bored.
Both Sakura and Sasuke are the most unlikeable cunts to ever exist in all of fiction. Sauce gay is tolerable up until he goes full coldsteel edge mode, but holy fuck I think I actually facepalmed every time pink shit was on the page and did anything. My favorite is towards the end when she proclaims "ITS MY TURN TO PROTECT U GUYS I'M NOT SHIT ANYMORE", rushes infront of Saucegay and Nardo, and then immediately has to be fucking saved in the next page because she is so horribly outclassed by the God level threats. Who knows though, maybe this is peak fiction because she's the most realistic woman I've ever seen in a manga with how fucking retarded, arrogant, deceitful, hypocritical, emotional and irresponsible she is.
Also Shikamaru is the best character in the entire series.

you are mostly correct. Sasuke and Sakura were 2 massive anchors dragging down Naruto as a character and maybe even the series as a whole. Naruto in pretty much every aspect became much better whenever he got the fuck away from them. Sasuke does have some highly entertaining moments though, but Sakura could have fucked off completely and the series would have been better

Storm 2 has a better campaign and still covers an actually good part of the story. Storm 3 takes the presentation to the next level but is about possibly the worst part of the entire series.
OP is wrong, however, the last good Naruto game was the Boruto DLC for Storm 4, that was genuinely excellent.

Yes, but the departments that are left once you remove that don't make for a good game on their own. Slightly better fighting game mechanics can't carry the game when it's still not particularly good. It's really just the better ougi that make a difference.
Which is part of why I think the Storm 4 Boruto DLC is the best content in the series, it's a proper map with exploration and for the first time in the series taking time to properly tell the story including the slower slice of life bits instead of only recreating "the big moments."
This way, it becomes a full experience and not just a recap for people who already know the story. Plus, it has the best spectacle in the whole series just due to being the most recent one. You don't have to choose between a good campaign and good spectacle with it.
The downside is that nobody gives a fuck about Boruto, myself included, but I still loved the DLC.
