It was also Meledandri who got rid of Martinet, because it offended him that he gave Mario a voice that parodies italians. They had to get Afghani in out of desperation because Martinet had such a beef with the Meledandri that they had to fire Martinet, since Meledandri is more important to the expansive business ideas they have about crossmedia shit, theme parks and movies.
