>>715941524NTA but they massively fucked up by making each boss a loot pinata. The moment enemies started dropping noted items, the game lost its soul.
If you ever need any sort of resource or consumable, you can farm it the "intended" way, or you can kill a boss to get the same amount of it per hour, while also getting 20 other items. For example, need addy for more bolts? You never mine addy rocks, you kill a boss that drops addy bars instead.
As a result, skilling activities like chopping wood or catching fish are done purely for XP. You click the resource and immediately drop it. So the only form of skilling you do is whichever one gives the most XP.
So because skilling doesn't feel rewarding anymore and is just a boring as fuck chore, Jagex makes minigames that make it not feel like a chore, while also adding unique drops so there is a reason to bother with this stuff and give it value.
Unless they nerf boss drop tables significantly (they won't because damage is already done, both to economy and players dopamine receptors) or buff "intended" methods (they won't because it'd buff "muh xp rates" too much) game will stink forevermore.
It's still good but it's a 7/10 that could've been a 10.
