These two trailers just makes me even more mad the more sci-fi the series has gotten. Leave that shit to the Covenant, the UNSC is supposed to be a more advanced humanity, but still recognized as humanity. Ballistic weapons, tracked vehicles, armour etc. as the core of the series. Spartans are supposed to be advanced, but still ultimately human against an entirely inhuman force.
Then not to mention the hopelessness of the human/covenant war. We won, with billions dead, endless planets glassed and on our last legs. Not to say there wasn't hope in Halo but by god, everything post Reach never captured anything close to what made this originally special.

MS is an absentee parent with shitty house rules about employee contract lengths, 343 is incompetent at best and malicious at worst. Leaning towards the latter. Their best work (H2A) was contracted out to Saber and Blur, and also given a reasonable amount of time to be made unlike CEA. The best hope for Halo is the license being farmed out in hopes that something good comes out of along with the inevitable duds.
