And if you don't have a pc. Try to stick to pvp games. Single player games just do not have enough content to be worth the cost 9 times outta 10. The only exception to bad vr games (it's honestly mostly due to ridiculously dumbed down ai) is pvp. Human to human interactions tend to be 100x more interesting than brain dead ai.

So basically for single player games, you want pc version mostly through mods. For multipalyer games you want standalone version (which is usually crossbuy with the pc version but through the oculus app). Most of the time the pc version is broken (sporadically) for pvp games that prioritize standalone.

Meta Quest 2, used, is 200 dollars or less. MQ3S is pretty good, with xbox 360 graphics, and costing 300 dollars. The Meta Quest 3 is even better, with best lenses of any VR, but cost more than a hundred dollars than Meta Quest 3S.
On the reals? A MQ3S is pretty satisfying, and a MQ3 takes you all the way into the future of normie VR vidya.

I do not recommend anything below quest 3 (including 3s) trie to go back to the old lenses when my headset was getting repaired and it was so bad, I opted to just stare at the wall for a week instead. Somehow the lenses feel like a 10 year gap in tech.

I have VR, I just haven't used it in a while since good VR games are rarer than hen's teeth. I did see news that somebody made a Crysis VR port a while back, plus somebody else apparently did it for Satisfactory too. I'll probably put my Index on for those 2 at some point.

I got a Quest 3 but I think I'm going to wait for the new Valve one to come out since I heard that one will actually let you install games on the device itself and not require a shitty cable strapped to your head or internet connection to run games.

Yeah, Satisfactory seems to have gotten VR UI and all the good stuff to make it actually playable. I just frankly dread what the performance would be. My 4090 runs it fine at native 4k but I don't think it's enough for at least 90FPS in VR without also dropping the graphics to full potato quality.

I didn't know about FC1 having a VR mod, that's another game I really liked back in the day so I'll have to give it a shot. Not a fan of Halo though, maybe VR would be the opportunity to give it a 2nd try but I'll see.

I moved my 3090 into my AI rig (this is the new fotm tech thing) and now I only have a p5000, which can't really handle vr that well. So I just haven't bothered taking the vr out.

Also during your downtime (I run mine overnigbt) check out 2d to 3d ai converters for video. Owl3d if you don't mind a subscription, iw3 if you don't mind running python (if you don't know what that is stick to owl3d first) last i checked owl3d let's you do 1 min clips for free so I used to section off a vids into 59 second segments and stich em back together after (a 5 qued job limit for free but unlimited runs)

I've had VR since 2016 and I've upgraded to an index and then to a beyond. The offerings are still disappointing. The latest games are mostly gimped by quest-first design, or simply don't exist because many developers noped out after even Valve couldn't turn a profit from VR games.

There was a much better place called AltSpace that even had an official guide that told you how to use the app, gave quick tour to newcomers, and also managed daily events and stuff.
Everything in the map was reactable with your hands(you could actually throw food in other people's mouths), Physics were built-in, they even had finger tracking for Leapmotion from day1.
No trannies, No Furries, No Woke shit, and like half the people you meet there were like actual game devs and coders working on VR projects.
