Watched my friend play this over Discord. I saw the beginning and ending sections but missed a lot of the story in the middle. I don't plan on playing it myself but I will say that the ballroom scene with Rinoa was absolutely incredible and she is one of the best Final Fantasy heroines of the series in my opinion.

I think you're holding Rinoa up dishonestly and think in the back of your mind that she's actually garbage, since most people think so. That doesn't seem very fair to her. I'm telling you to play VIII, discover that she's fucking awful in a very getting under your skin way and that she's the best girl in the party regardless. The great girls of VIII are Fujin and Raine. Xu is okay.
