Every fucking level is the same shit. The game is so easy the powerups don't matter and the transformations just feel like lazy filler. The worst part is there is hardly any bosses and they all die in like 10 seconds anyways.

Mario Odyssey had so much more level variety, gameplay variety, and even more challenge (still an easy game, just never felt catered to small children like Bananza)

When is switch 2 going to get anactually amazing exclusive? Sakurai needs to slap Nintendo in the face with his Air Riders game. If he can't make a game worth a damn on Switch 2, nobody can desu. I'm not counting Prime 4 since it was always meant for Switch 1

The problem is that the overworld levels are basically nothing. The amount of "platforming" in them is negligible. Bananas are just underground or hidden in an object. You use sonar to reveal them and then you just smash through to get to them. They obviously added in these challenge ruins because they realized the game had no platforming.

Yeah, it had one mode that was decent with friends, even then the only fun part was the trial itself not the actual race/battle at the end. And really, City Trial was just kind of neat to explore to find the secrets and do stuff on the grid. It is a decent mode, it is not a fucking system seller.

I see HowLongToBeat has "Main Story" listed at 16 hours. So I am going to finish it up and assign a mid score. It isn't the worst thing I've played but I really expected better. I guess it really was as advertised. What you see is what you get, the end.

Switch 2 is off to a rocky one. Couldn't even give me a regular ass Mario Kart.

Is Pauline super cringy? I really hate the child sidekick in pretty much every form of media, it's never fun or entertaining especially since I'm a grown man, it's just weird. And I really hate children singing, and I know her entire story is about wanting to sing, so if I have to listen to her sing through the whole game I know I'll hate it.

Once at the end is fine, but if she sings a bunch for power ups or in a lot of cutscenes, I couldn't handle that.
