Is anyone else really interested in the individual biographies that could have been recorded about these hard-ass pipe smoking kids of the olden days? What kind of adults did they turn out to be among the ones who at least made it to their 20s?

It's a sanbox game. Run around, punch some trees and do whatever the fuck you want. Do you need everything in a game to be spoon fed to you? Do you need bright yellow paint to show you a path?

That gets boring too quickly

A game needs to have a well defined tasks/quests/problems

>A game needs to have a well defined tasks/quests/problems
Minecraft has a logical progression, a series of intermediary checkpoint goals, a final boss, and an ending which rolls a credits sequence. It is a game which can be "beaten", even if beating is not the most entertaining thing about it. Your inability to figure out what you're supposed to do and then do it is a failure of your skill as a gamer.

Minecraft is one of the most brainless games literally made for children. Stop acting like you hit the next level of consciousness just for playing minecraft.

There were various jobs.

I was on a coal mine tour recently and I think I would've chosen to starve to death rather than work in those conditions 150 years ago.

I'd imagine some of them turned out fine but fine would be reaching 40 and having children. I dont think anyone from a background like that can break out of their enviroment and do anything else, not even manage the mines. You literally dont know anything but how to mine and if it didnt kill you then youre not long to live unfortunately.

I love survival base building games in general. But eventually Minecraft got too boring and I turned to Factorio, which has base building but for an actual purpose and to defend against actual threats that can't be dealt with with a lump of coal and a stick.

You know why it was outlawed? Because working in a mine wrecks your health completely, and able-bodied men were needed for wars.

Yeah, more money for the people holding people lively hood over their head. Getting your family involved in something that should have been honest pay for men is fucking absurd, knowing dangers of that kind of position.
