That’s a pretty accurate list. I know some of you worship the rare games but they were never even that good. DK64 was awful and it’s been weird seeing some of you say that it’s not or have nostalgia for it. I only played it twice and never completed it, only played to get to the arcade game and that was a chore. I’d rather go to work and I don’t even like my job

I do really like 3, and the setting is comfy (though a clear downgrade from pirates). My biggest gripe is too many bad gimmicky levels. 2 is full of them also, but they aren't as frustrating.

Returns and Tropical Freeeze are so much better than the og trilogy it's not even funny. It's good to see time has given them their rightful place as some of the best DK games.

Bananza feels like a completely different beast to the rest of the series but it's great so far and yes it's also miles better than 64

Returns and TF are excellent, I just prefer the original controls. The buddy system, rolling and keeping momentum through enemies, the timing for increased jump height off of enemies.

I completely agree. A lot of the gimmicks are really dumb. But its biggest problem is not being as good as 2, which is a really high bar.

Only thing wrong is that Donkey Kong Gameboy should be #2. That game rules, I still dig my Gameboy out of storage once or twice a year to play it.

Donkey Kong (arcade ) is a better game for 1981, then Donkey Kong Country is for 1994.

But DKC is the better game.

Holy based. This is such an underrated game. DKC2 is better than Returns though and 64 should be dead last, but other than that this list is right. Maybe it's too early to tell if Bananza should take the top spot but I'm having the most fun I've ever had moment to moment with DK.
