Can't recall any other games I'd care enough about to be upset about botched sequels or that are as easily differentialable. There are also titles, especially RTS, of which most entries are great up until the developer falls apart (e.g. C&C) or sells out.

Nobody said it yet but Dead Rising is easily the best game in the franchise

2 and even 3 aren't that bad or anything it's just they never quite captured the tone and what made the 1st game so memorable even with it's fucked up AI and difficulty curve

I respectfully disagree. Exoddus was a massive improvement on Oddysee. The quicksave system was great considering what a clusterfuck some sections were, Elum was annoying to use so they removed it, and there were more enemies.

Ratchet 1 had a lot of elements that were perfect like running into randos on planets but I'll take gun leveling and more dynamic enemies over anything. Also the Metropolis example in UYA is a bad example because it was a multi-player map last minute turned into a level
