You can literally find those exact instances in Hogwarts Legacy, They have a scorch mark in one of the Hogwarts rooms that's labelled as the first successful casting of Bombarda, which means the dude cast it point blank at the fucking wall. Most of the body horror stuff is completely reversible with simple counterspells or potions with zero aftereffects, so it's not really that concerning to the general population. Blowing your tongue through the roof of your mouth and fusing it to your eyeball can be patched up before the nurse finishes her evening tea time.
