Just beat it. It's no masterpiece
Some fun ideas and the destruction is satisfying, but it's way too easy, too repetitive, levels are too samey, no incentive for upgrades because the game is already way too easy as it is, bosses are a joke, and honestly the artstyle and floating island style are just not appealing at all to me.
Overall 5/10, probably the worst DK mainline game to date, and a huge downgrade from Odyssey

No. I think OP is right because it feels like a sequel to odyssey but I kind of like it because mario isn't fun to control if the levels are wide and easy but DK in bananza is fun to move around no matter what the level is like

It was fun for an hour or two then got repetitive. I get it is for children but can gameplay not evolve? It's a boring platformer and adding destructability is kind of fun I guess but it didn't innovate really. At least we got a barefoot rock loli with freckles I guess.

I don't like Nintendo's "any way you want to solve a problem is the right way" game design being in everything. It was novel eight years ago in BotW. I don't need it in a Donkey Kong game
