Gamers Nexus did a great video showing the degradation of image quality when using DLSS or fake frame generation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nfEkuqNX4k
And the worse part is that games are not looking any better compared to 7 years ago even when DLSS is turned off , but you still need better hardware and blurry, ghosty fake frames to run the new titles.
Game graphics are literally going backwards. It's not stagnating anymore. It's getting worse, and you're going to need better hardware to run it.

Can you imagine how bad it will get when developers consider "DLSS ON" to be the default, normal setting just to get 60 fps? That's where we're headed.

No it doesn't. It adds input lag and tries to interpolate frames but it is imperfect. Watch the video. It makes every 2nd frame have visual imperfections like ghosting and blurryness.

Bullet sponges are never fun, the whole weapon upgrade system belongs in trash.
So I simply kept using telekinesis and aiming for the head with the railgun pistol mode.
It was fun enough for me to finish the base game, DLCs weren't that much fun.

That comparison image doesn't support your argument, the one with RTX and DLSS clearly has sharper details. Also don't use a dogshit jpg compressed image to show stuff like this.

>when developers consider "DLSS ON" to be the default
DLSS as a technology is fine, and we're only on the third generation where a completely new DL architecture (transformers as opposed to CNNs) have provided legitimately great results.
DLSS and FSR will be part of the rendering standard pipeline a couple generations down the line, and no, it's not a bad thing. Instead of saying "WEW DLSS BAD, WE DON'T WANT DLSS", the focus should be on "How do we preserve 99% image quality with a newer generation of DLSS, since we now preserve about 85% of it? How do we kill ghosting?"
>Muh fake frames
DLSS isn't fake frames, that's frame gen.
>Muh fake resolution
Your resolution is "fake" in the same way that the the venerated Quake "Fast Inverse Square Root" is fake because it simply uses a Newton-Raphson approximation instead of properly computing a square root.

you dumbfuck, this is framegen, not DLSS. DLSS is a temporal upscaler for resolution. It is in principle a form of AA, except the input image is much smaller than the output image, and because it avoids TAA altogether, the output in motion (and oftentimes even in stills) is much sharper than native resolution due to in-engine forced TAA.

DLSS != framegen
DLSS is a temporal upscaler for the resolution.
Framegen is a DL-based interpolator for framerate.
nvidia calls the entire package "DLSS" but the actual DLSS4 (or any generation number) is and has always referred to the resolution upscaler.

This whole thing sucks ass. DLSS/FSR was supposed to be something that helps your shitty ass 1060 keep up, instead we ended up with a crutch that even current day graphic cards have to use, because shitty devs cant optimize their games.

This is bullshit. I play games at 4k using Ultra Perf DLSS4 and I literally cannot tell the difference 95% of the time at a fraction of the power draw and hardware requirements. Then I can get 90+ FPS which enough frames for zero issues with FrameGen to cap out at 120. Anybody who is against this tech is either running games using old (shitty) versions of DLSS2 or 3, or are unaware they can force DLSS4. 4th Gen DLSS tech is fucking black magic, its ridiculous.

Dlss or fsr doesnt add inputlag at all it reduces inpytlag by producing more real frames since its just rendering at a lower res (more fps) and ipscaling it.

frame generation adds inputlag.

it's literally 1080/1660Ti boomers and 2080 warriors who dismissed first gen DLSS. The truth is the DLSS4 is amazing, and everyone should be excited for DLSS5 and whatever the next FSR is gonna be. It's literally games running on a much smaller power footprint. I didn't give a fuck about the 5000 RTX series, but the DLSS4 backward compatibility is the real star of the show here.

Raytracing is the root cause. Frame gen was a solution GPU companies invented to "fix" the problem they caused in the first place.

Looks great on my machine, always has. I don't use frame generation which is fundamentally a different thing (something which confuses a lot of /v/groes), but running games on Quality at 4K is free performance, and the only people I've ever seen shitting on it are poor jeets who can't use it in the first place, or techlet zoomers who think replacing the .dll is just a one-and-done drop in thing and think the ghosting they get afterwards is someone else's fault.
