i remember someone saying that the oddity trailers were 100% fabricated and none of it was an actual real game
though i might be thinking of something else

Undertale is the real Mother 4. Deltarune is Mother 5.

Personally I would just like any news about this game. I looked at their fucking twitter page and there was a tweet last year that cryptically implied that not only was it not cancelled, but that they could potentially have anything to show. How about some news? Some sprites, gameplay footage, a short cutscene, FUCKING ANYTHING? It doesn't even need to be anything big, doesn't need to be another trailer, extended footage, none of that. Just show anything! Talk! Talk to the fucking peoples!

YIIK was annoying because it kept punching you in the face with shit that was hard to tell if it was done seriously or ironically and the combat sucked. Knuckle Sandwich was annoying because the entire fucking game was done ironically despite the rather serious tone the intro took on. Also the combat sucked more than YIIK.

Knuckle Sandwich feels like the dev had no actual idea what he wanted to do with the game. The music is unique, I like Busdriver, and that one fight with the two lesbians where you have to impress the crowd with unique moves instead of a traditional fight was cool, other than that I don't remember anything about it.

Of all the games in the earthbound-like genre this shit was the worst. The demo has a amazing hook that just got fucking dropped because the dev obviously didn't know where to take it. The combat was so terribly balanced and tedious I turned on the instant win baby mode just to get to the end of the game, which is something I have never done in a non-porn game.

It was clearly a product of development hell. The mechanics of the lesbo fight and the great music seemed like prime material for a fight with the gameshow host, which was "revealed" later and then immediately scrapped, and then the game just kinda peters down until you fight the manager from Chapter 1 (the reason there was ANY hype for the game to begin with), where he apologizes for not being in the game more, then the game rushes out some weird moral about how the MC killed a guy despite that not being a big deal for the entire story, and then some other weird meta shit. As much as I hate every game being segmented half-games that release new chapters every 2 years, Knuckle Sandwich could have direly used it so Andy Brophy could stop, get feedback, and readjust. I liked it, I hope he makes more stuff in the future, but my God does he need to re-focus.

i always got the feeling it was going to be something the boss would use to get the mc to keep doing his bidding, something that keeps stacking bodies upon his conscience, but...no. it was nothing. he gets sad about killing that guy here and there even though the guy was going to kill him. the creator did a "retrospective" last year where he said you were going to kill each boss but he decided against it because he liked the characters so much so instead of dying the bosses dont do shit
