everyone just speedruns or metafags via guides/addons/infodumps
they can be enjoyable if you avoid all of that, but them being MMOs means you'll interact with fags who aren't playing the game in a soulful manner

NTA but he's right. The golden age of WoW was 2004-2009. Classic servers are not the same, they're filled with min-maxing faggots and its all gogogogogoggo instead of enjoying the journey. FFXIV is in its worst expansion yet. The pre-WoW MMOs are dead, and modern MMOs like ESO and New World are simply dogshit. It's a bad time to be an MMO fan.

You should start with a time machine to go back to when people didn't datamine en masse, follow a youtubers guide, or use external voice chats aside from when they did raids.

ESO is great (or at least it was back when I played it religiously from 2015-2018). Classic WoW is also great.

Final Fantasy XIV is the best MMORPG right now. It has a huge free trial available that includes both the Heavensward and Stormblood expansions, allowing you to reach level 70 with no restrictions on playtime for free.
