i poked around the files in godot just to look for interesting stuff, and ending up finding a tent prop, a whole unused tent zone 'dimension' very similar to the shop and aquarium that just looks like a box of some kind, and some code which implied the tent prop was supposed to work similarly to an island flag, im halfway sure.
the tent dimension kind of exists in the game, but you have to propfly towards it and its fully invisible. i tried propflying to see what it was like and it was just a piece of flat ground as far as i know.

It's basically a glorified chatroom. You fish and fill your journal while talking to people doing the same. You can also play guitar, punch people with boxing gloves and draw in certain places, so when the game was alive we used to organize little games like pictionary, connect-4, hangman, football (we used an AFK player as the ball and punched him into the goal), etc.
It was fun.

What would you put in webfishing 2.0.?
Aside from the obvious things like more fish and more progression, I'd love to see some more esoteric secrets hidden around, like a secret boat you can go deep water fishing in or a cave lake you can get weird exclusive fish at.

Those are good ideas. I'd like to see more activities beyond fishing added, could be fun. Expanding the island itself to have more on it would be very nice. A lot of it as is, is just out of bounds with nothing there.

boats are also an unused feature in the game, there are 3 of them if you look inside the game files, ranging from a wooden raft to a decent two floor modern style boat with a small pool. there are also some deep sea fish placeholder images as well, this crab being one of them.
i think if deep sea fish become real content they should stay gritty and realistic to put you off.
