Wish they'd gone more in any direction, platformy, RPG/quest, or even combat focused with more enemy types.

Why did K. Rool get a 4K uplift while DK and Diddy got redesigns?

I don't mind the new design, but its problem is that it lacks the ability to be 'cool' and serious.
Old DK could be silly but was also able to pull of this "I'm the king of the jungle" type shit. It was a more versatile design.

Yeah, sadly. Nobody was clamoring for this but old boomers in nintendo. I get celebrating the character's entire history, but.... man. Rare DK was THE Donkey Kong. I don't think it would have really been so hard to animate and characterize rare DK in a way that works for this game. It would have made the bananzas funnier, it would be great. Fuck man even just toning down this redesign's altered elements would have been fine, It's just too much.

That was when Dk WAS the king of the jungle. Now he's back to being a cartoon girder climbing nitwit. But after DKC1, that characterization never really was done the same way. I miss realistic DKC world. It was cooler.

I'm not even a Donkey Kong fan, but I still think it looks hideous like the nu-disney bean mouth slop they're trying to push nowadays. You can make the character expressive without making them look like a retard. The game in general is just ugly too. Floating islands with random colored voxel shit everywhere.

I'm not a fan of the design itself, but mostly I'm put off by him making constant retard faces. I'd never thought of DK as retarded even though he monke, because his demeanor was distinct from a character like Crash Bandicoot who is basically a Looney Tune. But now he looks like a literally drooling moron. DK could be goofy but it was always in contrast to his usual stoicism, whereas goofy is his baseline now.

What's a good switch emulator for android? Not giving Shitendo a single dime
