Just started playing, any tips? I have finished 2 missions on the terminator planet since those were highlighted on the war map. I am getting 2-3 tapped by even basic enemies, I only completed the mission if I just run away, maybe get some pot shots in and sneak deploy the hell bomb. Heavy soldiers tear me apart even faster. Should I try another sector and if so, which ones should I try? Does leveling up matter? Appreciate all the help in advance.

What weapons do you have?

The current "highlighted" planets, the one you were fighting on, are being attacked by the "Incineration Corps" who are incendiary-themed bots, they're way way more powerful than usual ones
You should try playing on another planet until you get your bearings, just pick whatever looks interesting
Bear in mind that each faction (Bugs, bots, squids) plays very very differently and different tactics are needed, and some equipment works better against certain factions

Starting weapons, like the SMG, bolt action rifle, assault rifle, and pistol. Best heavy weapon is the LMG stratagem I can deploy.

Are you playing alone? If so just remember that you're really squishy. You never really get that much tougher unless you use some kind of shield or bulky slower armor which only helps up to a certain point.
>terminator enemies
I'm assuming you mean the automatons (robot guys) and not the terminids (bug enemies)
Headshots are the best way to take care of just about any enemy you run into. Even the basic pistol should kill just about any of them in 3 hits to the head if you can aim it well enough.

Use your stratagems. I don't know if you're playing on PC or with a controller but if it's on PC you want to bind your stratagem keys to something that allows you to move while calling them in. You want to be throwing that shit on cooldown when there's big groups of enemies to kill as many at once as possible.

Also stealth. Don't run right up to an enemy patrol if you think you can sneak around it. A bunch of the little guys can call in reinforcements which has a cooldown (2~3 minutes maybe?) which you can either bait out somewhere away from your objective or avoid entirely by killing them before they fire a flare.
Your basic machine gun stratagem you start with is great for most enemies but for the big enemies (webm related) you'll need something that can either penetrate the eye port or blow it up from behind in its weakpoint. You can also shoot the leg and cripple it if you don't think you can get behind it easily.

When you can purchase the EAT you should because it's a damn good early anti-tank option with a low cooldown that doesn't conflict with other weapons. Just pick it up,use it,toss it, pick back up your old weapon. The recoilless rifle is also good so try both and see which one you like more.

Run around on Bug missions until you get more comfortable with the controls and unlock some better weapons/strategems.

First things you should get are the Redeemer to replace the starting pistol and the EAT-17 (Expendable Anti-Tank) rocket (bring it along with your LMG) and then get some AoE Eagles/Orbitals to have better crowd control.

Try whatever planet you want, it doesn't matter. Yes leveling matters because it unlocks new stratagems to buy. Aim to buy in priority the Gatling and autocannon turret, the autocannon, recoilless rifle, supply backpack, airstrike, 500kg bomb.

Dying in 3 hits is normal.

>Game is not designed to be played with less than three people
>Difficulty 7-10 is 'intended difficulty' range (this is the point where enemy types/spawns/resources are unlocked). Lower difficulties are quite chill and an opportunity to get used to mechanics and controls. Use your SOS beacons or matchmake
>Character levelling and requisition slips do not matter (everyone is perma maxed on slips); Buy all the stratagems for slips in whatever order appeals to you. You need samples collected and extracted during missions to improve your stratagems and ship, I would get Supply Pod Upgrade first. You need Medals to unlock weapons in the warbonds, this is where most of your weapon and armour options come from.
>Enemies get suppressed when fired at making them less accurate. Sprinting and moving around will help you avoid a huge majority of fire. big/slow moving projectiles and melee attacks can be avoided by leaping out of the way which I think gives you some iframes. Being in a dive or prone also reduces the effect of some damage (like explosions) and improves your weapon handling. Just try not to leap off anything too high or you'll ragdoll and take damage.
>Weakspot aiming and armour type is the main difficulty check in the game besides general awareness and positioning. Bots especially demand that you put shots in the right place to efficiently kill them.

My recommendation would be to play lower difficulty bugs with the Punisher shotgun until you unlock some MEDIUM AP class weapons and Anti-Tank strategems (or some options in general). Then jump into bots. Shooting their dropships down is good fun an I enjoy their faction the most.

Ignore metafags telling you to get the 500kg, recoilless rifle, rocket sentry, etc.
Use whatever looks interesting, have fun LARPing with different equipment. No, the mechs and the car are not necessarily, "the meta", but why the fuck would you cuck yourself out of using the most fun strategems in the game?
In terms of warbonds, get whatever looks interesting to you; everyone will tell you to get Democratic Detonation first, I listened to them and I never ever use the crossbow because its gay and I prefer shooting bots with bullets

Play with randoms, the game is made for random coop not solo.
Dying until you get good is normal.
Keep pushing higher difficulties as you get much more XP and cash, all the good players are in D10. D1-9 is genuinely harder because its filled with idiots.
If you bring some good anti-armor (i.e. Recoilless, EATs, Commando) you're always useful.
Light armor is the best armor type. Move fast.
