This garbage won't be a real Silent Hill

Silent hill is canonically a concept now, sadly. That said this game looks like it could be good

The last "real Silent Hill" was in 2003 so does it even matter?

Silent Hill isn't real.

How many real fans are left? Silent Hill as a franchise didn't sell as much in comparison to Resident Evil franchise. Before the Silent Hill 2 remake, the entire franchise sold somewhere under 10 million units, most of those coming from the first 4 games. One resident evil game can sell as much as that. The Silent Hill 2 remake sold 2 million units. Silent Hill f will likely do just as well on the good will of the SH2 remake. It might even over perform expectations like a lot of games have been doing this year.

I'm slightly worried the combat will get stale due to a lack of variety and we've yet to see any sign of any puzzles or riddles. I really do hope it's a good game.
