I got the platinum for ver. 1.22, you fuck. They totally fucked up the percussions, some of the instrument samples sound off and the vocals are more subdued in general.

PS3 replicant is really endearing, charming and has an arguably better soundtrack but has some cut content. Ver 1.25 restores all the cut content but modernizes the game to match automata's visual style and combat controls
I'd say to play 1.25 solely because its probably the intended experience now that it has the full contents and maybe replay the PS3 version if you want to experience the game again in a more original presentation.

Brother nier just feels very bland and emotionless in comparison and the music was changed a bit which kinda sucks. I normally am not a fan of western adaptations but this is one of the instances where it actually made the story better.

Haven't played the remake, but I'd describe the OG Nier as a fairly bad game that has some incredible highlights which make it worth playing. Most of that comes from the fact that the actual playing the game part is bad, but it has excellent music, atmosphere, story, world design and characters.

The remake supposedly at least makes some progress in fixing the "actually bad to play" part and also adds more content on the story side, so I guess that's the one to go for. But like I said, I haven't actually played through the remake so I don't know whether they botched something else or not.
