Also the way Frodo turns evil at the end, and the only thing that makes the film end the way it does is gollum going schizo accidentallying the ring into the volcano seemed lame for two reasons, first because no one seems to acknowledge that frodo had ONE job and he fucked it up, secondly because with the ring being a literal deus ex machina it seemed odd that gollum would accidentally it into the volcano like that.
