>"Ok now Fragile smokes." - Kojima
I mean this is literally why she smokes in DS2. Kojimbo found it sexy so it added it
>>716037324 (OP)Ill buy her game as long as she puckers up something else. Kojima?
>>716037324 (OP)Crazy how no ones talking about this game anymore. Quickest that discussion about a new Kojima game died. It's also the first sequel to his new IP and comparing it to MGS2 which is still brought up today....It's so shallow, no deeper meaning, no philosophy, just Kojima jerking himself off with endless cringe references to past works and shoe-horning in celebrities and quips.
>>716037928it's a PS5 exclusive, this point applies to all of them
>>716037458Whats the point of kissing? I just dont get it. How is this stimulating?
The best part is that the map is larger than the 1st game's
.
>>716037928 I think it shows that the vast majority of /v/ players are PC players which is is an encouraging thought.
>>716037928Nothing died faster than Clair Obscure. A week of praise and then silence. Hilarious.
>>716038063idk, i never kissed, why ask that here?
>Get sunglasses
>Says it reduces brightness from the sun
>Literally does nothing
kojima games used to have detail...
>>716038063Lips are soft, enticing, make you want to taste them, the act of kissing brings increased blood flow to the parts being kissed, makes your head feel hot, feverish even, requires the release of chemicals in your brain to offset which feels nice, and impacts decision making. Can help lead to sex. More kissing = more chemicals = more good feeling.
I'm having troubles adjusting to the game not sounding like this anymore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXzJjhTiwq0
What is the main sound of DS2 really?
>>716038209Considering the fucked up HDR it would have been a great mechanic.
>>716038108You're comparing a Kojima game, a man who has decades of worship and experience behind him to a fucking indie developer who randomly put out a critically acclaimed title that got weeks of traction and a likely GOTY. The desperation of Kojima fanboys on full display here.
>>716038209Why would Sam wearing sunglasses affect the camera following him?
>>716038063It basically feels like Sex: Lite
Blue is the Warmest Colour was one of the first movies with sex scenes I watched when I was around 12.
>>716037324 (OP)If you are alluding to Kojima's worst games, then, indeed, I dislike intensely Metal Gear Solid 4 and the ghastly Death Stranding rigamarole. No, I do not object to soul-searching and self-revelation, but in those games the soul, and the sins, and the sentimentality, and the journalese, hardly warrant the tedious and muddled search. Kojima’s lack of taste, his monotonous dealings with persons suffering with pre-Freudian complexes, the way he has of wallowing in the tragic misadventures of human dignity – all this is difficult to admire. I do not like this trick his characters have of ”sinning their way to Jesus” or, as a Russian author, Ivan Bunin, put it more bluntly, ”spilling Jesus all over the place." Metal Gear Solid 4’s plot did not seem as incredibly banal in 2008 when the game was written as it does now when noble mercenaries and fourth wall breaking are apt to be received a little cynically by experienced players. Kojima never really got over the influence which the European arthouse film and the sentimental novel made upon him. The sentimental influence implied that kind of conflict he liked—placing virtuous people in pathetic situations and then extracting from these situations the last ounce of pathos. Non-Japanese gamers do not realize two things: that not all Japanese love Kojima as much as Americans do, and that most of those Japanese who do, venerate him as a mystic and not as an artist. He is a prophet, a claptrap journalist and a slapdash comedian. I admit that some of his scenes, some of his tremendous farcical rows are extraordinarily amusing. But his sensitive couriers and soulful mercenaries are not to be endured for one moment—by this player anyway. Kojima seems to have been chosen by the destiny of Japanese letters to become Japan’s most mediocre screenwriter, but he took the wrong turning and wrote video games.
>>716038085>>716038108Yet when a new Final Fantasy, Last of Us, God of War and Horizon releases people won't shut their mouths about it for months. Yep, has nothing to do with the fact that people are now on to Kojima after his first walking sim con, everyone knows what shit he's peddling and how he's all about blowing the entire budget on celebs and musicals.
>>716037928Funny you're mentioning MGS2 because Kojima tries to redo the Patriots in DS2 but it fails miserably. Clearly, to me this is the proof that MGS2 was mostly written by Tomokazu Fukushima.
>>716037324 (OP)So how upset are feminists about this? Are they going to to get Death Stranding 3 banned like they did with Dead or Alive Volleyball?
I like Olivia Westbury because she likes trains.
>>716037928It felt like a big dlc, it didnt add anything to really talk about. The story was pointless
>>716038063I just learned Ancient Egyptians just rubbed their noses on each other as a sign of affection and I find that to be both way more arousing and less nerve-wracking and involved than kissing. I would prefer we did that on the regular as the norm and kissing was an act solely reserved for foreplay.
>>716039051In fact /v/irgins all play death stranding on PC and are avoiding the spoilers in the threads. It's why they don't show up.
>>716038108what
there's STILL E33 threads in the catalogue and it gets namedropped in every JRPG thread from here to kingdom come
>>716039180Why would feminists be upset over ds2?
>>716039920Kojima originally intended to make DLC for DS but then scrapped it after covid happened so he could make DS2, a story that was reactionary to real life events. Just goes to show the moron did not learn from what happened with the cluster fuck that is MGS, and did not actually have any vision, no story to tell, no deeper message, just making shit up as he goes along and even worse doing so in reaction to real-world events. Anyway here's a concept art of what was first conceived as a sequel to Death Stranding.
>>716038063Not even joking, literally ever single time I kiss my boyfriend I pop a stiffy. Kissing rules, I highly recommend experiencing it yourself some day.
What was the new ship called again ?
>>716039021Nice AI post, next time remove the "—" and you may fool someone
>>716041501Jesus that massive spoiler. I shat bricks on the spot, the audacity of pulling this off with 110% confidence. I'll always remember this moment.
>>716037671Based. Smoking is hot
>>716038108Clair Obscur has a thread right now on the catalogue you butthurt, slithering toad, and it had a lot of threads and high traffic discussion for a month after it came out.
>>716042324Brought up by baguettes in a desperate attempt to retain its rapidly diminishing relevance.
>>716040384>just making shit up as he goes alongsame guy who said he'd have rewrote the entire game if Elle Fanning refused to play Tomorrow.
say what you will about him making shit up but he definitely has concrete visions for what he wants to make
>>716037324 (OP)Do you think kojima asks his team to make a secret VR version of his game for himself?
>>716041501This nigga looking zesty
>>716040384MGS was derailed by Konami
>that was reactionary to real life events MGS2 did that and everyone loved it
Kojima can't write a story that doesn't have the characters explaining backstory.
>>716042841Yes, it was Konami who told Kojima to constantly retcon billions of critical story elements and create plotholes. It was Konami who told Kojima to explain everything with nanomachines. Just blame Konami on Kojima's shortcomings, even though he loves to take credit for every single aspect of development.
And you are misinterpreting what is meant by. reactionary. There's a difference between developing a carefully planned commentary on world events that takes into account developments of the decade vs a hastily cobbled together plot that has to manoeuvre around inconveniences of immediate real world events. Two very different things.
>>716042632Basing your stories on what celebs agree to jump on board isn't the flex you think it is. In fact, that's literally the opposite of what your trying to defend. He literally is making shit up as he goes along and his work is heavily dependent on factors outside his control, petty superficial shit like celebrity involvement. Not to mention you didn't bother to refute anything I wrote, just came up with a dubious counter-example.
>>716037324 (OP)good job, kojima.

>Kojima's shortcomings,He has his flaws but MGS is dead now and that is thanks to Konami's mismanagement
>carefully planned commentary on world events Despite how many years passed, Kojima's writing hasn't really changed much. What you call a carefully planned commentary was hated by everyone initially until it got a reevaluation

>>7160379281. People are playing the game
2. It's ps5 exclusive and the /v/ artists come out to attack you for talking about owning a Sony console
3. The game is much bigger than ds1 as far as I can tell, it's actually probably filtering out a lot of people due to the fact you need to plan out your routes, the game is fun but I am relying so heavily on my ds1 knowledge I'd probably not enjoy the game if I didn't play 1. Also the story relies on ds1 a lot too.
>>716038085>which is is an encouraging thought. But that's a bad thing, because it means people are locking themselves to one platform instead of being an idort. It also means people are encouraging digital media.
>>716044590>he wanted to stop making MGS...Oh right that's why after every game the story was kept wide with more net questions created than had existed from the start of the game, that definitely proves someone is ready to put an end to their saga. Nothing says final game more than the main antagonist escaping with the game's most destructive weapon. Nothing says final game than instead of making a sequel to that, you first make a prequel then go on to make the actual sequel. Sounds like you were sold a bridge.
>MGS is dead now and that is thanks to Konami's mismanagementMGS is dead, oh no, not the dead series after 5 whole ass games where finally everything was answered.
>What you call a carefully planned commentary was hated by everyone initially until it got a reevaluationThere were people pissed off with the Raiden bait and switch, but it had universal acclaim, and you can check that on metacritic. And even if you check out user reviews on gamefaqs it is universal acclaim there too.
>>716045590>someone is ready to put an end to their sagaIt was never meant to be a saga in the first place. Kojima wanted to leave things open ended (at least with MGS2) hence why things like the VR theory was so popular. Its a classic case of a narrative that was never meant to continue
>where finally everything was answeredThe setting and gameplay are still worth continuing. I didn't care much for Kojima leaving for good but Konami took the series in the worst direction possible
>it is universal acclaim there too.Due to everything that isn't related to the story

I watched this film expected to be wowed by Lea and never being able to look at her the same, but she was just alright. I guess she handles angry well.
>>716037324 (OP)God germoids are so disgusting
>>716041501When I got to this cutscene, I literally put my head in my hands and said out loud "he got me again"
>>716037324 (OP)>Tom Scott with blonde hair
>>716038063>what's the pointIt's something intimate you do with someone else, and it can be physically pleasurable to a degree.
>how is it stimulatingIn your brain, below the line that connects the top of your temples passing through the top of your head, is the primary somatosensory cortex, the first part of the brain that processes tactile stimuli.
That region is organized in such a way that a specific part of your brain always responds to stimuli coming from a specific part of the body, and the bigger the area in your brain that processes those stimuli, the higher the sensitivity is.
The most disproportionately highly represented parts of your body are the fingertips, and the lips come in second, so they're very sensitive, even more than your genitals.
So having your lips softly touched or licked feels very good when it's someone else doing it, in the same way as tickling yourself vs. being tickled by someone else.
Follow me for more neuroscience 101.

>>716046137>It was never meant to be a saga in the first place. Kojima wanted to leave things open ended (at least with MGS2) hence why things like the VR theory was so popular. Its a classic case of a narrative that was never meant to continueIt seems you didn't actually address anything I said, you just brought up new bullshit so here it is again, hopefully you won't run away from it this time: "Oh right that's why after every game the story was kept wide with more net questions created than had existed from the start of the game, that definitely proves someone is ready to put an end to their saga. Nothing says final game more than the main antagonist escaping with the game's most destructive weapon. Nothing says final game than instead of making a sequel to that, you first make a prequel then go on to make the actual sequel. Sounds like you were sold a bridge." No open ended is not having a completely unfinished story where the antagonist escapes and then directly teasing another mystery through which only a sequel could possibly answer. It's ok bro, you fell for the Kojima "my final MGS game ruse".
>Due to everything that isn't related to the storyNo, it was probably a vocal minority that whined about the story, you don't get near perfect scores when people have major problems with the story.
So what's up with the torii gates you find in the game? I was expecting it to be the plate gates the game has been pushing since the beginning but that went nowhere
So far I've found 3

One near the plate gate in australia
The other on the mountain near the mechanic

I find it strange that I have become so obsessed with Death Stranding (1). I grew up on shit like Call of Duty and Halo and never really cared much for slower paced and “cerebral” games. But something about DS just speaks to me. It feels like a really special and unique experience. It’s more than just a game for me, it’s a philosophy. I know I’m in the minority thinking like this, to most the game is just a walking simulator and to others it’s just a comfy postman simulator. But there’s just something about this game that feels so special to me. It just hits all the right notes, like a perfectly tuned violin playing a note sheet exactly as it’s written. It’s easily in my 2x2. It’s just a shame we’ll never get another game like it. Even DS2 seems a bit different from this one.
I guess what I’m trying to say is keep on keeping on
>>716048339I think what you mean is that you got a fun game that was only like $30 compared to call of assrape bending you over for $100 every cycle

>and what do you know, MGS2 is 1/4 cutsceneYou obviously have zero clue about the general concensus of MGS2 at release.
>Metal Gear Solid 2 received acclaim for its gameplay, graphics, and attention to detail. However, critics were initially divided on the protagonist and the philosophical nature and execution of the game's storylineIt was praised for literally everything except the writing. Everyone agreed the presentation was slick and gameplay was engaging but the story wasn't what they expected.

>>716060326yes and no. mgsv is just a testament to missed potentials. funny enough it plays like a ubisoft game, because those modern games of theirs are also all like that where its missing the polish to be beyond mediocre. death stranding at least does new things and ideas comparatively and its not an action game, its basically a heightened simulator. all the designs are better than MGS has done, i think this is one shinkawas magnum opus
>>716061029Death Stranding has the single best implementation of contextual buttons that Kojima has been using since the 90s (that shit where the circle button does 50 different things depending on context), it has the most polished gameplay, good characters, good story, superb sound design and soundtrack, the atmosphere it creates is great and much better than anything MGS could ever pull and the implementation of the online functions (and the pretentious idea behind) was far simply great all around.
MGSV's world was smaller, less varied and had worse atmosphere, MGS4's didn't balance gameplay/cinematics as well, the story in DS was much better executed than the story in MGS4 and MGS3, the 'message' behind the game was better executed than the one in MGS1, it did better world building than MGS games, etc.
DS does not exist in a vacuum, it took many elements from previous games and polished them. It's a game that took the best aspects of MGS and kept them while adding other things.
The one thing that it does worse is the action sequences and in my opinion, it shouldn't have had them at all (or at least it shouldn't have had third person shooter elements.)

>>716037324 (OP)Never played 1, though I thought the world/set up was interesting and creative. The techwear aesthetic and sci-fi/paranormal stuff was pretty unique and interesting world building though I never was compelled to actually play it. Got DS2 and found it surprisingly really good. It’s one of the best sandbox games I’ve ever played. As a player you have so many options in terms of traversal, combat, etc that building out infrastructure, figuring out new ways to get across places, trying out new weapons and equipment for taking out enemy bases is all a lot of fun. This game actually reminded me a lot of MGSV but better in terms of the open world. Just a lot of freedom of choice and flexibility in how to approach everything and it’s satisfying to establish a full infrastructure of roads, zip lines etc and get across places more easily, or to unlock new weapons or skeletons that let you tackle situations differently. The story was largely nonsensical but it was entertaining and visually fun to look at. I don’t get the hate for it desu. I usually hate open world games but DS2 feels like it was specifically designed around that as a core part of the gameplay which changes everything and makes it feel a lot more soulful than most slop which just has an open world to waste your time.

>>716071491My dear underaged anon, gamers HATED MGS2. They said that Kojima lied because the trailers were all from the tanker and in the retail version the tanker is just the tutorial and the rest of the game was played with Raiden. They hated that the story was pretty much a rehash of MGS and the ending was "nonsense" and everyone hated that the "cool" Snake was replaced with the "feminine" Raiden.
It was much later when gamers began to warm up to MGS2, partly because of the ending speech, and partly because the Raiden hate was overblown.
Revengeance was another game that was mocked when it was announced for the cheesy dialogues and the stupid title.

As people most use metacritic nowadays, if we check that, it's currently sitting at an abysmal 7.4/10 for user reviews. And even today people are shitting all over it. Why? It's no MGS2 situation at all. Death Stranding is a complete 180, gameplay and direction is completely different than anything else Kojima shitted out, unlike the MGS1 to 2. And there are things that makes this whole game objectively bad. Kojima shamelessly blew the budget on pointless celebrities and the gameplay is dogshit repetitive snoozefest with a pointlessly abstract story in a drab world. It's not some overly persecuted victim, and this is not a vocal minority crying about the game, it's literally a mainstream sentiment that hasn't gone away even as the sequel has released and never will, I think it's going to be remembered in even worse light as time goes on and fog of this cult fizzles out. DS1 even has the benefit of "predicting a pandemic" now, and we're several years passed that, people have had years to decide if Kojima is some exalted prophet to be worshipped for predicting the pandemic or just a retard desperate for hollywood...even with the luck of a pandemic, the games still getting shit on in user reviews. Of course MGS2 wasn't exactly the same: campaigns to review bomb games with 0 scores were not as common, but if you were in forums at all back in the day it was heavily criticized.
DS2 has a far more conventional and far less visionary story but it’s actually fine, the deal with this game was clear more and better death stranding gameplay, and with a neat little continuation of the Story, so from this point of view it’s necessarily a good game because it fully met expectations, it’s just not a masterpiece but it’s fine because DS1 was already a masterpiece

When a corpse gets consumed it results in an antimatter explosion called a voidout. most of humanity and their cities were totally wiped out as dead people resulted in antimatter bombs exploding everywhere across the planet. Sam is the first bridge baby, which are baby fetuses extracted from the wombs of braindead mothers and put into pods, who have a connection with the realm where the dead reside as a result. The remainder of the American government uses this connection to create a “chiral network” that uses the connection to the realm of the dead to be able to transfer information and basically use chiralium create material and objects out of thin air. A necessary technology for them to survive and communicate in the post apocalyptic world that they now inhabit. Sam winds up in the custody of a bridge baby he eventually calls Lou, named after his unborn child who died along with the mother who was killed in a voidout around a decade before the first game. As it turns out, Lou was actually his original daughter, who was extracted from the womb of his dead wife before she died unbeknownst to him, and became a bridge baby. She is special because she is born to Sam who was also a bridge baby and a “repatriate” who always comes back to life after he dies due to his connection with “Amelie”, an extinction entity who is chosen to facilitate the extinction of life on Earth in a perpetual cycle; Amelie was also his adopted mother who took care of him after his real parents were killed trying to break him free from the bridge baby experiments.

Roads and structures don't go to other players they go to the servers, your structure or somebody else's in its place, makes no difference. Donated cargo in post boxes don't stay where your put it, it's erased and an average simulation of it is fed to players. ((connecshon))
>>716084298I posted this in a much earlier thread but I love how when I first started playing I just saw BB as just some meter I had to keep an eye on but now as I’m playing I’ll randomly take breaks and play with Lou for a couple minutes and whistle to her

>>716084534>your contributions don’t help others, they actually just help others Okay?
Facing the big BTs on purpose is a better approach than avoiding the watchers imo
Higgs guitar fight Should actually have been guitar hero gameplay, and the fist fight gameplay should have been the Mecha DHV FIght
>>716084690Who the fuck are you helping? Does he even need your help?
>>716071491Your gay revisionism isn't working, MGS2's story was widely considered a weak point upon release, especially among fans. The gameplay and graphics however made up for it.

>>716078972"The Beach" is a plane between the world of the living and the dead. Dead people appear on The Beach and they walk through the sea to reach the afterlife.
A cataclismic event takes place: some dead people are "stranded" on the beach. They manifest in our world and try to reach for their old bodies or the bodies of living things in a desperate attempt to come back to life. When they enter in contact with a body, they cause a gigantic explosion similar to a nuclear explosion. This event is called the "Death Stranding" because the death are stranded on the beach.
The Death Stranding triggered a change in the world: rain now causes things to age and die rapidly and a new kind of mineral is discovered, chiralium, which has mysterious proterties.
This rain and the beached things, BTs, caused the surface to be extremely dangerous for people so the survivors went to hide and now live in shelters under the ground. Lost countries in the world including the USA are devastated and don't exist anymore.
The main character, Sam, has the weird ability to return to his body from the beach when he dies without triggering an explosion, essentially making him immortal. He is tasked by the last president of the USA to unite all the shelter-cities through the Chiral Network (a kind of physical internet powered by Chiralium which allows people to share information and print physical objects) to create the UCA: the United Cities of America. A new nation.
So he goes throughout the continent uniting and helping people with the help of BB, a fetus inside a pod. BBs are the unborn babies from mothers who died before they could give birth. Since BBs where not born and cannot be born, they can be used to detect and see BTs, as they're both beings that are stranded between the Beach and the world of the living.
That's basically it.
>>716084534Yes, if you play offline the game automates and simulates some of the mechanics because they're integral for the game. Online players do get to share constructions and you can check which "shard" of the server you're on and which players you're sharing the terrain and buildings with.

>>716084556I actually liked BB from the beginning. It's kind of gross, but when I made Sam trip and fall for the first time I got concerned because it cried and I thought maybe the game would have permanent damage to BB or the pod. Then I got to soothe BB and it was just adorable with it's little bubbles.
Later on I slightly reached out towards the screen when Higgs shot the pod and I actually shed a tear or two when BB cried for the first time and Sam held her on his arms which is also the first time I've ever cried with a videogame.
I think it boils down to BB having all these cute, adorable interactions throughout the game and also being the only companion you have throughout the entire game. Kinda like the Companion Cube but without the ironic bullshit.

But not DS. I saw countless threads, lots and lots of discussion and webms and its still a fucking enigma to me.
Gonna play it soon, its on my pile of shame long enough.

>The plot becomes far too strange and detached from the Metal Gear Solid idea that I've come to know (think of Mario suddenly being the last boss in Sonic the Hedgehog).https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/913941-metal-gear-solid-2-sons-of-liberty/reviews/26563
>There's not much eventual purpose to this kind of storyline--wheels within wheels, plot twists for the sake of plot twists--and putting up with the constant interruptions of Raiden's chattering nanny is patience-trying when (the promise of) great gameplay is beckoninghttps://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/913941-metal-gear-solid-2-sons-of-liberty/reviews/56044
>The story would be more forgivable were it not for the sometimes awkward and melodramatic character development. Despite all these qualms about the game’s plot and characters, MGS2 is something that Metal Gear fans and anyone looking for a thrilling story can’t pass up.https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/913941-metal-gear-solid-2-sons-of-liberty/reviews/30978
>This is where I'm glad I didn't put down $300 for the PS2 (as of the writing of this review). I can't help but compare this to the plot of the original MGS for the Playstation, but even on its own, the plot of Metal Gear Solid 2 simply isn't up to par. Solid Snake's adventure in Shadow Moses involved an intriguing story with just enough twists to really get the player excited, agitated, and fully immersed in the game.https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/913941-metal-gear-solid-2-sons-of-liberty/reviews/30277
>You see when you start off in the game at the oil tanker the story there is true Metal Gear exploitation. However, when you pass the tanker you then move on to the Power Plant scene. This scene starts off with an above average story, but then in the end the melodrama takes over it all
