It's sadly true, but I am the Youtuber/Twitch streamer, so my opinions are my own. The only time I watch others play games is if I've played the game myself or I never plan on playing it.

It could be true. If I mention a game that's popular (second highest players on Steam), then nobody will know anything about it.
There's a reasonable argument to be made, which is: There's too many games and nobody can play them all. But if you check Steamcharts, people are playing it, and just not the people here.

I play games quite a lot. I beat 10 games this year so far, but I've played a fair bit of MP stuff in addition to that as well.

Correct. It's not a meme. /v/ genuinely hates playing video games and it's extremely rare to get a thread that isn't just people constantly hating shit they've never played or general shitposting. Off topic threads are great though.
