Is it ok that my gpu is at 83C when I'm in a game? Does it have so kind of protection like CPU from overheating (it reboots the pc if temperature is too high)?
Playing that robocop game from the yesterday thread if it matters.

Depends on your GPU but most of them range between 65-85C under stress. And yes, all GPU's have a safeguard that will reboot your system if the temps go too high.
Nothing to worry about really but if it generates a lot of noise you should look into the settings to create less stress. Constantly having high temps does have an impact on the longevity of your GPU. Capping your FPS, don't use RTX or lower RTX settings, stuff like that.

Mine never breaks 70 at full load, 30 idle, if you haven't set a custom curve for the GPU fan do so, if you have already it is time to clean it

Okay, I guess it's really time to clean my pc from dust, it's been a while.

Yeah I just sold my 5070ti because of nonstop driver issues on Windows & Linux. Mac is not a option either.

AMD can go up to 110C without damage. Nvidia shuts down at 90C and dies at 100C.

Check your memory and hotspot temps
I wouldn't expect the card to blow up immediately but maybe look at your ventilation and/or do a power limit + overclock/undervolt tweak to reduce power usage while hopefully retaining performance

They are protected from overheating. First they'll throttle then they'll shutdown if that's not enough.

Nigger retard tech illiterate trash, they both use the same node. Silicon dies at 120C T_j.
On AMD base clock is sustained until 110C T_j but boost throttles earlier. Nvidia throttles boost at 84C but it's T_edge which is usually 10-20C below T_j. It's effectively the same for both vendors.
On any decent modern AMD or Nvidia card you'll never throttle and maintain boost clocks indefinitely unless you lower the fan curve or it's 40C outside. Of course, an iGPU peasant poorfag like (You) wouldn't know that.

your pc is going to burn that is way to hot

You'll notice when your gpu starts throttling. 83 is just about the temp that they're designed for.

The glitchiest cards with the worst drivers I've ever used were all AMD cards. I've never had a single faultless AMD card in general. I switched to an Nvidia GPU this year and had no problems besides it not liking games made on Unreal 1.

I switched to Nvidia because AMD was trash for emulation and so far my review is that both companies suck for different reasons

I buyed boughed a AMD 7900 XTX and it started hitting 110C after a month of usage. RDNA3 dies love pumping out the paste.

83 isn't even body temperature, dude. It's fine.
