If this game were easier it would be a masterpiece people still talk about. The game quickly becomes trial and error to sniff out which intended solution the developer demands. If you check the patch notes for the game you will see how he goes back to change levels to have less solutions to challenges. I have no clue what possesses a dev to enshitify their games like this.

>a great game would be more popular if the average person could comprehend and beat it
yeah no shit lol
a prime steak would be more popular if it was hotsauce flavored cheetos but that doesn't mean we have to make it so
the average person is retarded and their opinions do not matter

you are the reason games never live up to their potential, it's quite poetic

Void Stranger is very much like Baba is You

No, games never live up to their potential because devs get spooked by vocal weirdos who want everything to be a university entrance exam. Making a game more intuitive or allowing for multiple solutions isn't "dumbing it down," it's respecting the player's time and intelligence. Creativity dies when puzzle design turns into "guess what I'm thinking."

>I'm bad but it's the game's fault!
Your mistake is using this board which is why you can't solve simple ass puzzles

>Puzzles have solutions
>game dev pushes you to play the game in a certain way

Good game design, go play your open world open ended slop and fuck off retard

Obviously this game is too hard for you. Maybe you should try a puzzle more your speed like pic related

>game dev pushes you to play the game in a certain way
The thing is it doesn't do that in some of the levels. It railroads you to teach you the concepts and then drops you in a big room and lets you figure out a solution that might be completely different to how your friends did it.

I Wanna Lockpick gets autistic as fuck when you get to the door salvaging mechanic

The problem with a lot of puzzle games is that they expect you to make leaps that only make sense to the devs, or do rote computer work. I'm sure there are people who find optimising Zachtronics games fun, but I'm not one of them.

This is why I liked Type Help, because there was only one point where I had to try and make a leap, and it was probably just because I missed a hint somewhere.

Do puzzle games need to be beaten to 100% to be enjoyed?

I got base endings in all Animal Well, Baba is You and Cocoon and had a great time. It's why Void Stranger is a piece of shit game in my eyes. Supposedly there is all this AMAZING content and lore after you stick with and delve into, but I could not be bothered. I beat the game for the base ending and regretted even playing the game.

Must be tough, being retarded.

If you don't feel the need to 100% the game you didn't enjoy the game. The rewards for beating puzzles is generally more puzzles.
Even in void stranger the lore is like 5% of the content compared to the actual time spent doing puzzles.

>play crossword
>only one answer fits each clue
>play jigsaw puzzle
>pieces have to go in a specific order
what the fuck, why do I have to do the intended solution the designer demands?

Sorry for calling your favorite game shit, anon. Maybe I just think that a game is supposed to be fun on all levels of play, no matter where a player chooses to stop.

But hey, with the recent sloptuber exposure to this game, I'm sure you will find like-minded individuals over on reddit already making threads about it. You will be in good company there.

That's a really bad example considering steak is gated around its cost rather than its baseline appeal.
