Yes. The best guide is talking to other Dota players. I've played Dota since I was a teenager and I still fuck up when warding. Let me explain something that happens

Sounds good, right? Nope. If there's an obs, then the enemy has seen me and I'm dead. It happened in a match recently. I should have put an observer first, and I would have a higher chance of getting away. That's my tip when it comes to warding; If you're in a danger zone, then put an obs first.

i play really safe, getting in there for an ulti is only worth it when you can hide behind cover or after theyre distracted enough.
otherwise frostbite and crystal nova are both really good skills with long range for helping securing kills for your carry, lets you stay deep in your own lines forcing them to dive you(and die) or ignore you.
if theres no fight just stack camps which is a bit of gold for you and helps you carry and ward like that other anon said.

My issue with playing 5 is that I don't know where the fuck I should be after the laning phase. As a mid I know to rotate for ganks and try to take towers and harder farm, as 3 I know to make space, as 4 I know to gank and as 1 to maximize farming routes, but after finishing the lane phase as 5 I have no idea where I should be at any minute.

Well, the name of the role is the hint: Support. You should just be following people unless they're farming. Even if they're farming, it's fine to follow if they're farming in the enemy half. So yeah, if you just hang around near people, you're doing your job.

if theres no team fights i usually move towards warding our forest perimeter and stacking camps while trying to put up a ward around theirs to minimise their own farming.
but always keep an eye out on the map for a fight to tp in, maybe even surprise stun someone so your team can get a kill, remember to grab the xp runes and if possible the enemy one too.

Correct. All the casters, analysts and Dota pros show up at the tournaments. That means someone doesn't follow the scene and thinks there's no fanbase. I legit watched both Team Spirit and Pvision vlogs because I couldn't watch EWC. Later I realised I could just use a VPN.
