The franchise introducing new races with each installment seems to be a theme so I could see it happening.

The bunnies need diverse hairstyles to compensate for the lack of styleable tentacles if they're going to be playable, though.

Turning the characters into Squid-beings so that they could swim in the own ink they create turned the game from something meh into the juggernaut it is now.

I remember one of the devs was recalling how they went from rabbits to squids and almost immediately asked "why did we give rabbits paint guns?"
If they did do a game with a completely different theming from fish, I hope they do it in the same gameplay style as Battalion Wars
