The RPG elements are decent with a unique emotion rock paper scissors type combat. It’s pretty easy though.
Story I thought was alright except for some of the reveals at the end, but the piece of it about losing old friends and parts of yourself from childhood that you can never get back did personally move me.

I want to agree with you but Basil is straight up gay even if it JUST for Sunny and not males in general. Early in the game when Dream Basil was explaining the characters relations to flowers he was growing he said something about sunflowers always facing the sun that they love if I recall. Basil sprite will literally always face Sunny. One of the few times an overworld sprite will even move. He love Sunny to death even if it isn't sexual it is still would be seen as gay as hell by most of /v/. Most people who play the game in the past noted though that Basil may look like a femboy on the surface (more so with his nonstop crying) he is likely jacked as hell from all of the yardwork that he does. Unironically likely can beat up most people who would make fun of him quite easily, it just he is too much of a nice guy to fight back.
