I used a guide at one point during INFRA. It was when you have to save Robin and get the smoke extractor to work. My little finger was aching from having to be crouched all the time so Mark didn't choke on the smoke and after half an hour of slapping the control panel I looked up the solution.

The Elden Ring DLC was too hard for me.

I use save states when I'm playing games that require sharp reaction times and I'm stoned
I enjoy the shit out of all the mods the casual subhumans in the stalker general hate, especially Misery and GAMMA among others, and never savescum there
I never, ever play as a vassal in Mount and Blade, that's the game's biggest noobtrap and waste of time

I always quit games at around 3/4th of the way through and haven't finished a game in the last decade.

This happens to me a lot too,.
Most recently with pic related. Absolutely engrossing rpg that had my attention for hours every day for an entire weekend.
The game has 4 chapters, at the beginning of chapter 4 I was so burned out that I haven't toruched it in weeks.
