I remember when this was first announced, /v/ was hyping It up and claimed it would be bigger than Elden Ring and considering Elden Ring even got normalniggers hooked in one way or another, I was expecting something massive but then it came out and less than a month later no one cared.
What went wrong?

I'm the world's biggest enjoyer of DD, having put several hundred hours into it well before dark arisen was ever a thing
2 was a horrible, dissapointing disaster. They spent so much time and effort making the game engine have "realistic physics" and stupid shit like that that they forgot to make the rest of the game actually any good. Every aspect of it is a step back from the first game. I am still literally seething at how awful it is.

They kind of "dark souls 2"-ified the game where compared to its predecessor its just sluggish and slow and awkward to control your character in a poor attempt to make it feel weightier or some other stupid thing. It's nit quite as bad as dark souls 2 was about it thoughever.

E33 has certainly sold more than 3M copies right now and they just wanted le ebin 3.33 meme. It also was made by a dev team of like 30 people + animators/localizers they outsourced to. It is their first game from a new studio and is a GOTY contender.
DD2 is made by one of the largest and most well known AAA developers with a development team that dwarfs E33 and while I do not think it was a financial flop (I am NTA) it clearly was a disappointment critically and commercially.

More like Dark Arisen actually fixed a lot of the issues the base game had and added quite a bit and then the sequel took no lessons from DA and literally just remade DD1 vanilla but with less content because better graphics.

It was good, I finished it and moved on. Mad there was no DLC though the difficulty falls apart way too fast

DD2 had around 90
Neither of those have been confirmed as far as I know but you can also tell
DD2 required them to overhaul re engine while e33 uses ue5 and a lot of assets

MH3 was fun on Wii and Wii U, because you could do split-screen co-op on same console. I think on wii u you could go on the hunt, and wii version let you do split-screen co-op "arena" with preset gear against some boss monsters. I don't quite understand how they managed to lose the split-screen co-op from their other games
