Started playing BBCF recently because I love genderbent girls, I’ve been wanting to get into fighting games for years, and because I used to have friends that were really into Blazblue. Currently trying to work my way through the tutorials and Mai’s moveset. These anime fighting games are too complicated, even Mortal Kombat X wasn’t this bad. I also tried Guilty Gear Strive awhile ago but I just didn’t care enough about it to get good. At least Blazblue has Mai and I read her manga before playing the game so I have a slight understanding and appreciation for the world and its characters

She's intentionally designed to be easy as fuck to play, so they gave her GIGANTIC normals, great damage, and one of the strongest projectiles in the game. She's a top 5 character due to having such great control of neutral.

First off would be learning how to reverse beat.
Mika for example can do charged 5C into 5A and be left at +7 on block so it's a good habit to get into. There's other reverse beat strings to keep your pressure ambiguous but you can learn those as you go along.
Second, stagger your normals. In conjunction with the above, staggering your buttons and tricking your opponent into believing your pressure is over is one of the ways to open people up. Just be sure to save a light button to reverse beat back into to keep yourself safe at the end of a string.
I'd ease off the constant jumping because being in the air is risky as shit. Mika does happen to be one of the characters who can technically be comfortable in the air but that usually involves getting airborne through 236X first. Mika's jA can snipe other bigger air buttons with its speed and air FF can drag people back down while you have your own fuckhuge air button with j[C]. You also have j623X which is deceptively enormous and active as fuck.
Get used to piloting 236C. Not only is it your safe pressure extender, it's also basically a free mix-up that lets you cross someone up for a combo afterwards.
From your buttons, abuse the shit out of 66B. It's a fast as fuck low that discourages opponents from shielding with so many options to cancel out of it while putting the fear of getting clipped low in their minds so you can then later throw in j[C] and 66C to trip them up later.
Your 623A is also a menace. It's big, fast, and safe. If they block it, you're -1. If they get hit, you can do the follow-up and then get a combo if you spend meter.
Meter is like candy in this game compared to previous versions so don't be afraid to spend it at the end of combos.
Also maybe learn how to use her EX only 360 grab. If you have vorpal and cancel after landing it, you can net some obscene damage with a simple combo afterwards.

It has just been going in the exact opposite direction of what I personally wanted out of future Tekken games and what got me into the series, coupled with the fact that some characters I've always hated like Lars being double cancer and some I enjoyed like Anna getting reworks that change how they play a massive amount
That and the fact that the devs openly admitting to understanding this being how the average player feeling and doubling down with the release of s2 AND releasing fucking Fahkumram in it, I just couldn't keep on playing after over a decade of being a fan of the series.
It's not an anger filled feeling but more of immense disappointment and sadness for me. I'm not even one of those people who're allergic to change, I think the chip and grey health mechanics do work really well apart from needing some minor adjustments, I think having one heat activation with an armor move as a defensive option would be OK too, but then I don't like the rest of the things heat brings. I don't like how combos keep getting longer and longer. I don't like how lackluster backdashes are.
You really end up having to hold a lot of things that would be fake mixups in past games as real here because you can't get away from anything no matter where and how you get caught in the first hit

I started playing SF6 January of 2024 and it was my first ever fighting game. It took me like two hours to do a super into a double QCF motion cancel. A year and a half later I'm at 1500MR (climbed from 1150). To some people it's amazing. To some it's nothing. But at the end of the day what I learned from fighting games is that if you aren't an insecure egomaniac who only has fun if he wins, then the outcome of the match doesn't matter if you are having fun playing. It also never mattered what other people think of you. It's fine if you suck at fighting games. Outside of a couple of schizos, nobody actually really cares. Also if you really do have the right mindset and attitude about the game, then people will come over to you and give you sets, teach you fundamentals and little details that matter greatly. I've had many sets against people 200-300MR bigger than me. They mostly wiped the floor with me, but after a week of these games I got better. I completely understand why the majority of players don't want to go through this, I understand them completely, and it's fine. Games are supposed to be fun. Losing can be demoralizing. I guess you need to be a certain type of mad to enjoy all of this, but starting off as a fucking noob, learning the game, getting better, adapting to and beating all your nemeses, climbing ranks and doing it all by yourself to me personally is the most fun and fulfilling experiences in video gaming.

I played Street Fighter 6 and beat the story, I really enjoyed myself and got 50 hours out of the game, however I got scared and never played online, maybe when the new season pass goes on sale on the winter sale I'll give it a try again and try out Alex, I really like him.

Good games (most old games) make it so the harder shit is optimal so you almost always wanna go for it while still leaving some situations where it's best to go for something easier but they also give you everything you need to do some batshit stuff and it isn't entirely retarded to do so in a real match
Modern games (think Strive for example) make it so the optimal combos are also extremely easy bnbs so there's really no point in worrying about anything beyond that.
