I'm just here to say that I spent over £100 to get the soundtrack on vinyl and I regret nothing.
One of the best original soundtracks in gaming history.

They're true to the original. The pressing is good though, and the tunes are all remastered. Sounds incredible out of a well-balanced system.

eh thats fair, I personally think those boss fights are shit but they are memorable moments if nothing else
The Jake races and the 100% final boss from 1 is infinitely more enjoyable to me personally
even though Jake isn't a boss until the last stage of the game every time he shows up he's memorable as your rival.
its interesting you found it hard to keep going because of the bosses, the levels were fun and the finale set piece was a breath of fresh air but you didnt get to that from what it sounds like

>Any tips?
you can use the face buttons instead of the right stick which saves your thumb
when doing a combo lock on and use your dash boots to close the gap instead of moving with the left stick since you auto move towards who you locked on to
when doing air combos continuously spin the right stick and tap the jump button, it lets you combo in the air
those are the big things anyway
>and I remember anons posting combo webms.

Love 1 to death, played it a ton growing up
Played 2 on emulator last year or so, it wasn't bad, pretty solid. Doesn't quite have the charm of 1 but that's pretty impossible to replicate so no big loss
Started 3 but have not finished, it's not bad and the forms are cool but idk. I think maybe I went in expecting more given how many people dickride it super hard (probably just cause of yumi)

The transformations are what endeared 3 to me. Sure, they're easy mode, but they're just fun to use in general. 2 didn't really have anything to set it apart, so I found it pretty bland overall

I'm one of the very few people who prefer 2 over 3, and that's primarily because 2 kept a stronger "stealth gameplay" identity over 3 which is more action game-y.

>Play Spike for1st run
>You don't actually need to catch every monkey to complete a level, only thing that matters is the main missions. Capturing more monkeys gives you more points which gets you higher tier materials for gadget crafting but don't worry about it on your 1st run
>Make sure to get the weapon upgrades but don't bother with trying for custom ones, just check periodically for the premade ones you can make
>For the net, if you hold R3 and let go, you can shoot nets like the Saru Blaster from AE2
>For dash hoop, if you have a non-hoop gadget equipped and then double tap whatever you have hoop bound to, you can activate it for a quick burst. Very useful for combos or dodging
>Get yellow gun and white laser cannon asap. Yellow dash hoop also good. Red gun sucks, yellow laser cannon sucks, red laser cannon good but takes good timing to use well
>For bosses, bring two guns (white + yellow gun is reliable), stun club, and hoop. You'll need the ammo
>Stun Club: L3 + R3 let's you guard. VERY useful, the game also has perfect guard mechanics where you can parry melee attacks if you get one
>Hold the jump button after doing a double jump to do a jetpack hover
>Use your specials very often, there are 4 of them and each one is bound to pressing different pairs of face buttons next to each other like O + X, Square + Triangle etc
>Focus green and red monkeys when you see them
Mission tips
>For M3 (truck), just ignore all the enemies and focus on the truck. For M27 stay on one side
>For the Haruka missions, just run by nearly all the enemies and only kill things that actually attack her
>Final boss spoiler. iirc you need to max out your special meter, then get him to critical HP for when he's about to start healing, THEN do the special move. It's retardedly designed despite the moment being kino
The game takes getting used to and some missions might filter you but I like it
