I want the terrain and destruction based tactical combat of DOW2 with the base building of DOW1. I'm really not asking for much here but they'll probably still fuck it up.

dawn of war 2 campaign co-op was surprisingly fun and i fucking love the last stand
im surprised we haven't seen anyone make a game that is just the last stand mode expanded upon

DoW2 is more like CoH but the first is still a good introduction to the setting.

Last month I replayed the DOW2 games for the first time since they released originally.
I still don't like them; I want DOW's traditional RTS. It's depressing how people want a new DOW to play like 2.
Story and campaign-wise
Chaos Rising > DOW2 > Retribution.
Retribution was vastly more half-assed than I remembered

So did the DOW expansions and they didn't feel as shit as Retribution.

Original 2 really made you feel that your dudes were defending an entire sector from all kind of nasty bastards and those small cutscenes showed people behind had appreciation for the setting.
Chaos Rising made you feel you were knee deep into a conspiracy to destroy the chapter while having the corruption sword of Damocles hanging over you dudes.
Retribution was a bunch of random missions without rhyme or reason until it was the time to wrap everything.

sisters had a vr game, wasn't good. Aside from living saints, they're not too suited to a character action game ould be a Custodes, Librarian, Eldar exarch/Harlequin (No chance of them getting something cool), A Grey Knight, Imperial Assassin or an Inquisitor on par with Hector Rex.
You'd get more upgrades and customisation with the latter.

Micro and map control are my favourite parts of RTS and games like WC3 capitalize on that. Not everyone thinks macro unit spam is the only point of rts.

I though about the SoB because 40k videogames are biased towards the empire due to being the easiest to sell faction but yeah, a DMC clone featuring Eldar is indeed the right choice.

GW sanitizing 40k reminds me of the new Superman movie removing a scene where Ultraman punts Krypto because test audiences bitched about it or manga scanlations having WARNING: THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS SCENES OF SUICIDE warnings at the beginning of the chapters.
Rather than GW being greedy and wanting normalfag money (which is still true), audiences simply became huge pussies who can't handle bad things happening on their fiction.

They have nothing in common with the tau besides being on average higher tech than the imperium is and not shooting every alien on sight as their go to policy. They would rather just rip them off in exploitative trade deals instead.

There is nothing progressive about the Leagues of Votan. They are a bunch of greedy, xenophobic industrialists that are willing to stirpmine planets that are still inhabited, and at best demand a fee from the inhabitants to be ferried off and at worst, just planetcrack the world for minerals and profits. They have actively cleanced the galactic core of basically all non squat life besides orks that are hardy enough to live eve non asteroids.
