and compare concept art from the first game (granted, the art style did change from 1 to 2 but from 2 to 3 it was mostly the same)
the new concept art was definitely geared towards trying to make her sexier or deliberately drawing attention to those aspects, while the original is more focused on making her a good, expressive design that happens to be quite attractive
stuff like this is why I despise creators/official recognition of a character being popular in that way, it's like corpos trying to comandeer memes about their properties or your parents trying to horn in on some in joke of yours

All the animal characters in Sly look like heavily stylized, serialized pulp or noir characters. Which is why the new design for her was so bad. Its not that it in itself is horrible it just clashes with the intended aesthetic.

That's more of a fault with 1 though with the throw away line at the end of him being braver. Now 2 is interesting because it is totally overcompensating from his personality from 1 and that gets crushed with Bentley's legs.
