I'm buying 8bitdo pro 3 when it comes

but I want a temporary controller for next 3 weeks before it's released, for switch use

so the thing I'm looking is GameSir controller, since it'd be slightly different than 8bitdo I'll own eventually. But problem is their confusing line-up, some controllers like tarantula pro gets called different name in different region (t3 pro?), then there's t3, t3 lite (Tegenaria Lite)

I'm torn between T3s and T3 Lite. The T3 lite is wired and cheap, but maybe too cheap because it has no gyro (might or might not bother me, not sure), but also it doesn't have rumble either. But what's also probably worse is the uncertainty on design, the design of T3S looks slightly different than T3 Lite. I'm no expert of Playstation controllers, but it looks like one of them looks PS4 controller (probably T3 Lite), and the other look PS5 controller (T3S).

Can someone give me some details on the hierarchy of GameSir controllers? Also which one should I go with design wise (if we ignore features) if I wanna compliment Pro 3? Is Pro 3 PS4 or PS5 style? I guess it would be cool if I had one of each style (so 8Bitdo Pro 3, and 1 gamesir of opposite PS style)

If you want something temporary and for switch use why not just use picrel?

I thought I would never buy another 8bitdo controller after the ultimate with its charging cradle, but this thing looks amazing. the pro 1 was my first 8bitdo and I prefer the symmetrical sticks. Love the color scheme too.

I don't have a good suggestion for you, unfortunately. I'm using my ultimate with switch 2 currently. I would suggest using a controller you already have, so you aren't spending money on a controller to only use for 3 weeks.

The weird thing is that I actually have both the Switch 1 and 2 pro controllers, but they're kinda boring so I'm looking to switch things up with some third party controllers.

>Gamesir hierarchy
T3 = symmetrical
T4 = asymmetrical
G7 = Xbox-licensed
K1 = transparent Xbox-licensed(?)

Their more recent releases usually have something less codename-y once they hit the global market:
Spider names = symmetrical
Cyclone = asymmetrical, mechanical
Nova = asymmetrical, membrane
Kaleid = asymmetrical, transparent

T3s's hardware is pretty garbage so if you want a cheap placeholder go Tegenaria (T3 Lite), if you want all the features go Tarantula (T3 Pro), and if you want something cheap in-between I'd skip Gamesir and go with Fantech Nova Pro WGP14v2, IINE Bastet, or some other rebrand of that OEM model.

>Is Pro 3 PS4 or PS5 style?
It's closest to PS4.

I'm more or less pleased with the one on my Pro 2. I remember hearing they're compatible with SNES membranes and d-pad pieces, but that's kinda cheating and I dunno if there are any aftermarket replacement membranes and d-pads for SNES controllers that are actually good.

Their recent Ultimate 2 D-pad is basically a Vita D-pad. If that's also what the Pro 3 has, I think I've got my "forever" controller for PC. Except for M+KB, obviously. Topre has me covered on the board.

Shame it doesn't have dark grey or black sticks/dpad. DoA. Love 8BitDo controllers tho. Good layout for 2D games, but why bother with the analog sticks at all in an inferior layout.

I'm mad the Game Boy colored one has legends on the buttons themselves now instead of silkscreened off to the sides like the actual Game Boy and the Pro 2. I do get that it's because you can change button layouts now because the buttons are magnetic and removable, but still.

I've had issues with 8bitdo controllers, owned two of them and dumped them both for buttons certain buttons starting to wear out and feel like shit after a few months, and basically wrote the brand off as chinkshit after that, but strangely enough I liked the D-pads on both controllers while I had them. Could simply be that my standards were low because I was comparing them primarily to the Switch Pro controller which has the worst D-pad of any controller I've ever owned, but at the very least I don't remember either 8shitdo I used giving me constant false diagonals.

I bought two T3 gamesirs to play coop games with my brother on a HMPC thats running Batocera but I can't get both to work at the same time (I can only recognize one at a time). What gives? Is it just Gamesir being cheap shot? Do I get another set of controllers?

I want to ask if we know if it'll have a good dpad or not, but I can't trust anyone's dpad opinions. There are people who actually think the switch 2 pro has a good dpad or recommend fight pad dpads, even though most people would prefer their more general purpose controllers just have good dpads on them. Thankfully the last good controller Nintendo ever made (wiiu pro) can work on pc.
