The only spots we have yet to explore are the deepest parts of the abyssal zone in select regions in the deepest inset parts of the stretches of ocean that do not actually interact with the continental shelves, and even then, shit is already mapped out. We have the entire bottom of the ocean mapped out already. Why do you think we're going to make some huge ass amazing discoveries there when we're still actively finding historically massive dig sites in the fucking Amazon of all places? We haven't even finished exploring the surface of the planet.

Water is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless liquid that is essential for all known forms of life. It is composed of two hydrogen atoms covalently bonded to one oxygen atom, giving it the chemical formula H2O. Here are some key points about water:
Properties of Water

Physical State: Water exists in three states: liquid, solid (ice), and gas (water vapor).
Polarity: Water is a polar molecule, meaning it has a partial positive charge on one side (hydrogens) and a partial negative charge on the other (oxygen). This polarity allows water to form hydrogen bonds, which contribute to its unique properties.
Solvent: Water is often referred to as the "universal solvent" because it can dissolve many substances, making it crucial for biological processes.

Importance of Water

Biological Functions: Water is vital for hydration, nutrient transport, temperature regulation, and chemical reactions in living organisms.
Environmental Role: Water is a key component of ecosystems, influencing climate, weather patterns, and the distribution of organisms.

Water Cycle

Water continuously cycles through the environment via processes such as evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and runoff, maintaining the balance of ecosystems.

Overall, water is fundamental to life on Earth and plays a critical role in various physical, chemical, and biological processes.

I kind of got it in my mind where you mine shit from underwater, make infrastructure to send it to the surface and exchange it for dudes in diving suits and other stuff so you can go deeper and have to ward off meaner things. I'd rather not make it an RTS and instead concentrate on supporting your troops (Human life is cheap) with static infrastructure while you try to keep everything running and maintaining the base.

the ocean is like that friend you have known since childhood and you feel you are close, but in reality he has several secrets behind his back, most of them harmless, but one or the other can attract your attention, alarm you or even scare you, and that is why he prefers to keep them hidden, even if it means taking them to the grave, after all sometimes it is better to live being ignorant than knowing the raw truth and not being able to sleep well for the rest of your life, who knows the things that lurk in the dark and the only reason why they do not come to the surface is because they do not know it or it is dangerous for them.

Its a 2d coop/solo game focused on doing missions, exploring, and overall keeping a submarine on the deep sea of the moon Europa. Overall a great game and has a ton of mods so everything is tweakable. Most of the fun comes from fighting the sealife both inside and outside the sub. You have some missions where going out of the sub is mandatory. Also its playable with bots so you can do those too on solo.

With randoms its usually very awkward but its mostly luck, i have played with great crews too so its a gamble!
I have a campaign run on solo and even with more enemies mods the game runs very very sweetly too. So dont fear to add mods

So long as we can build a buoyant aircraft that can withstand 400 kmph winds, Venus will be colonised first.
Why Venus?
Near equivalent gravity, pressure and even sunlight up in the clouds. You just need to withstand the winds and acid, the colony 'airship' is buoyant due to breathable air acting like helium there.
Then just send down probes/extraction teams on cables drg style to harvest the semi molten surface for precious minerals.

Making a system where a submersible or ship can go under the water line and not clip through water is incredibly hard, especially if the ship/sub has a separate sinking/flooding system.
Every time I've tried to make this, I've failed, and if I can't do it, then I won't even attempt going further.
Barotrauma did it fine by making the entire level flooded, but that's not what I want. Subnautica kind of half does it, but it's also prone to issues (when sinking or diving)

Mars is fucked because of too little geological activity and therefore almost no atmosphere, Venus is fucked by too much geological activity and a hyper thick ultra deadly atmosphere, most people say Venus would actually be harder because of this since it's harder to calm down the 500 super volcanos than restart Mars core with a super laser or a gajillion nuclear bombs.
I say what if we just take Venus's excess atmosphere and move it to Mars then we have 2 good planets!

Mars is a turning point for space colonization, it's not an endgame onmy a stepping stone. It's a ground for experimentation and development on the terrain facing real problematics simulations on Earth cannot provide.
I'm in favor of colonizing the moon first, it would make Mars missions more likely to succeed having gained first hand experience. Going step by step instead of rushing and burning down billions once you fail.

To counter your point, I would argue that every time it did work they were warned that it was pretty much up to random chance if it would implode or not and that they just got lucky that particular time.

It's like buying a ladder only rated for 180 pounds and then sending multiple 300 pound linemen up and down that same ladder. Sure the ladder can probably handle that a few times - because typically rated equipment is built to withstand much more than what they're rated for - but the metal is going to fatigue each time. And eventually some poor bastard is gonna discover the failure point the hard way.

No, it would still expand. Pressure is a violent entity. There is no fighting it, only firm resistance or slow acclimation. It's why divers go down either in sealed hardsuits or spend hours, potentially days, degassing during their ascents. If you wanted to bring a blobfish up, the best way would be to trap it at depth in a pressurized container and slowly depressurise it over time so it can adapt to lower pressures.

Vacuum doesn't implode you, there's no pressure. Because of that, you basically get super-bends because everything expands and boats up. Since we're not super saggy like fish, it wouldn't be as bad as a blobfish. The no oxygen and coldness mean you could technically survive, like 20 seconds tops in space, but you'd get permanent brain damage since you'd go unconscious and having deoxygenated blood flow through and fuck it up. That's the other part of what would kill you fast- no oxygen, combined with the no pressure.

Everything Mars has, is also on the Moon.. Mars got popular due to science fiction and pipedreams, but the Moon is actually a legitimate better stepping stone by a wide margin.

Just gotta worry about that damnable lunar dust.

By the time you get to cave diving your finning/hovering/buoyancy control skills should be on point that you never kick up silt in the first place
I agree though cave diving seems uninteresting from the people I've talked to who have done it undertook it as a way to improve their diving skills, otherwise it is just looking at wet rocks. Apparently the water visibility is insane though completely unlike any sea/fresh water.

He's correct, though. If myriapods are bugs, and they are commonly accepted as bugs, then so are crustaceans since crustaceans are more closely related to "true insects" than myriapods are.

Roly-poly = bug
Centipede = bug
Crab = bug
Shrimp = bug
Lobster = bug

space exploration will forever remain in the domain of science fiction because the distances are too big, even if we somehow managed to travel at 99% the speed of light it is still unironically too slow. we should just focus on the ocean and forget about the space meme.
