It really feels like they're designing their games for 6 year olds nowadays. The final boss was very cool concept and visuals wise but had literally no moves. The cutscenes and constant Pauline dialogues are just cringeworthy.

You can watch the final boss for yourself. He spends 90% of the fight shooting stuff at you for you to punch back at him, with INSANE downtime between each. It took minutes but there was very little gameplay.

K.Rool didn't have many moves in DKC but because it was a 2D game everything was involved and you were forced to react and adjust all the time, not wait in a huge 3D space for the boss to do his thing.

Nintendo games were always incredibly easy since the SNES, we're just not used to Donkey Kong also falling to that trap since that was the only "hardcore" franchise besides F-zero. Tropical Freeze was by far the Wii U's most difficult game, Returns and the DKC trilogy didn't fuck around either.
