Non-snoys put the center of their thumbs on the center of controller sticks, that's why they're usually concave. Snoycontrollers expect you to use the tips of your thumbs, that's why they used to be convex, however the dual sense is concave sticks but the positions of the sticks are the same, so this thumb touching happens.
