It’s in stock at Target.com and also showing some stock at some targets within an hour of me. It was like this last week too but they keep selling out. Nintendo clearly doesn’t have stock issues because they keep supplying these stores almost daily but again they keep selling out and I don’t expect these to be there later. At some point soon they will be but there is no massive decline in sales. Wii U was never sold out for almost two months, it sold out some places on launch day but was still available and scalpers returned them than caused negative sales. That’s not happening here even if you want it to happen

It’s obtainable. Target.com has the MKW bundle in stock right now and the check stores links show a bunch around me but they were like 9 and now they’re down the 2 or 3 or sold out. Won’t be there for much longer but it’s like this every day. If you want one you can obtain one without paying scalpers.

Don't need to play it. I had the same worries about many Switch games such as Echoes of Wisdom and everything I thought would suck did. Odyssey wasn't very good because it was way too easy and apparently DK is even easier. Maybe try playing a modern hack. Impact is a gimmick fest, Mario 74 is so bad it was remade a few years ago to be good, and Star Road was made before ROM hacking tools were even finished
