Why do so many games peak with the first installment?

> Most care.
> Most detail.
> First Impressions Matter Mind Set.
> Representation Is Key.
> They flesh out the story with interesting elements and plot hooks then quickly run out of them for the next game as they try to pump out as many as possible.

Ngl, it's usually the soft reboot game that's the best one. It lives or dies though based on how autistic the community is over the changes.

Most sequels are made with money first instead of art at mind

Tekken 3.
Persona 3.
Devil may Cry 3. (Jesus a lot of 3s huh.)
Street Fighter 3 (okay this was a miss, but that style is pretty cool even if its a kusoge treated as a kamige)

MGS
Pokemon Gen 3 (there's that magic number again)
Resident Evil 7
LAD

Not saying all soft reboots are good because there are stinkers.

Tekken 5 was the Hard Reboot then huh? (Basically the Tekken that every other Tekken afterwards found its roots from other than 8 which is just last DoA with Tekken skin.)

Because its a relatively unknown IP, so they actually put a ton of effort in the beginning to make it popular. After it gets popular, thats when devs start coasting and don't care anymore

>Worst movement aka platforming
>Lack of combat options when compared to the sequels
>boring worlds
>The game forcing the laughably shallow gummy ship shit mini game onto you
>Overhyped levels that are overly simple compared to games that came before it with some of the levels being only 2-3 rooms big with no interesting gimmicks, platforming, story, and many other things
>Overhyped interactable objects that isn't actually used enough in the game to garner such hype
>Disjointed story where nothing you do matters until the mid point or the end of the game
>Can't skip the dialog or cutscenes in the original version of the game
>Most of the bosses are shit weird (how no one brings this one up for KH1)
KH2 is better, but if they made KH1 for PC and then ported it over to the PS3 later on, it would've been a better game due to them cutting out so much shit and mechanics because the PS2 couldn't handle the physics-based combat they were going for in KH1.

The world design is shit in KH1 outside of Hollow Bastion and Halloween Town. Very ugly and bizarre level design.

>boring worlds
>KH2 is better
not with the terrible flat world design in 2, sybau

The worlds had a lot of little puzzles and secrets in them. They were more interesting to explore than 2's combat arena hallways.

Because it tends to be made from a vision and a desire to create something. Sequels tend to be made to cash in on the success.

Wolfeinstein The New Order would be a sample of a hard reboot desu. You could say T5 was another soft reboot but they really just reversed the change from T4 and worked from there

Videogame sequels can improve on the gameplay though. Story isn't the most important thing in every game.

Capitalism demands constant growth, you cant maintain constant growth without castrating and raping a product into something that gets closer and closer to grey goo to be pumped trough tubes into consumer zombies mouths.

KH4
>Replaced the villain from KH1-3 with comic relief Marvel quipping mobile gacha character who appeared in 2 cutscenes in the actual games for 6 minutes and 36 seconds
>Organization XIII is replaced with mobile gacha characters who have cardboard one dimensional personalities and appeared in 1 cutscene for 2 minutes and 55 seconds in the actual games
>In order to understand backstory you need to play mobile gacha (WHICH IS OFFLINE NOW)
>Another mobile gacha that was supposed to contain crucial backstory got cancelled
>QTEs
>Strong woman representation
>Unreal Engine 5
>Nomura is retiring and giving away the franchise to literally who
IT'S OVER

No Tekken 4 was way more like Tekken 3, with Tekken 5 they revamped the battle system and introduced the gimmicks we all known and have a love/hate relationships with from moving forward.

There's a billion fucking games where the sequels are superior but this board is full of cocksucking contrarians who have no thought outside "new bad old good" and guess which one is the oldest
fuck off you retard

I'm going to say it like this: Tekken 5 is good, Tag Team 2 is good, Modern Soilless Tekken pretty bad 7 was alright but ruined by RAGE METER tag battles.
