This is honestly one of the biggest !!! the more you think about it. The heads of the studios are always white or some small mixture in USA but still white or very white-looking. It is nice that the people there are sympathetic for wanting to be "fair and safe", but is it much better to swap from white man who gives no thought to it to a white woman who has some kind of savior complex and barely takes any feedback from black communities? Like I hate that just writing that gives kneejerk reaction to many and gets me accused of being things I'm not. I watch lots of political Youtubers and some black ones, F.D Signifier is very eye opening and it really makes me think even when I don't necessarily share all of his views. But dude got real points.
Anyway, as you said Instagram and TikTok are full of pretty/cute/sexy black women. It is kinda sad that there are lots of pretty white women in vidya as well as "realistic" ones, lots of pretty asian women in vidya as well as "realistic" ones, but only "realistic" black women.
If we had black equilavent of Lara Croft, and on male side something like Cloud, most of the screeching from /v/ would die. Of course the drooling poltards would keep drooling but majority of people just don't get to see much cool black chatacters.
Like honestly watch some black cosplayers or black anime stuff where black fans redraw some anime chars as black. Like black vidya/anime fans want cool/cute/hot designs for black characters too. But for longest time there have just been few Marvel chatacters, and while Spider-Man and Miles Morales has been around for a looong time, it ain't cutting it.
Of course as a white guy I'm no authority in black character design or what is "good". Just let people design characters without being restricted by idpol.
