whats the best, comfiest ps1 jrpg I havent played yet? I love the era/genre so much, while snes and ps2 has good ones they really dont do it for me like the ps1 days. I know theres still plenty I havent tried though. tactics games dont count because I cant stand them.

Give Grandia a a spin. It honestly has been a good while since I last played it so I'm not sure how well it holds up. King's Field games are fun masochist simulators as well if you want to know why FromSoftware is what it is.
Other than that, I don't have sadly much any games to recommend as you seem to have played vidya I would've recommended. I will as an annoying Alundrafag push Alundra on you a bit, so give that a try(and consider unWorking Designs romhack/patch/thing if you want to restore the normal enemy HP, the localization buffed all enemy and boss HP a fuckton for some random reason).

I hope some other anons gives you more recs. I love FFIX the most out of all PS1 JRPGs personally.
