Their own esteem should be humble, but hold strong convictions toward their beliefs. They do what they do, not because they think they're better than others, but because the ideas they enforce are better.

They're more likely to kill defending someone else than defending themselves, and will get more upset when someone insults their god, than insulting the paladin himself.

Humble regarding their own person, proud regarding their actions and the morals and holy powers which guide them.

This is an ideal paladin imo. for character flare you can and of course should occasionally push the boundries in various directions.

1. It doesn't sell/no interest from suits, more niche/unproven = more risky.

Dragons are like stoic, virtuous creatures that feed off of the morality of the settings they're in. Smaug was a greedy dragon, Eldin was a stoic and sagacious character. They don't really have anything else to do but resemble the moral affects of people. Even so they live for thousands of years, and these moralities fade away, but their notions of morality do not.
