yeah thats the last time the game pretends to be an action adventure. from there on out, it's all RTS. Tim Schafer pulled a bait and switch on us
>>716164498
Make it an action adventure game all the way through. I'm sure some people would've liked a spiritual successor to Sacrifice but not as a bait and switch in a game about heavy metal.
>>716163239
If you want to subvert me then so be it, but the whole thing has this nefarious air of "HAHA YOU THOUGHT THIS WAS AN ACTION GAME, YOU FUCKING IDIOT" only to give you one of the worst RTS experiences a game can offer. And it's not like EA was chomping at the bit for its action game to be an RTS. When the suits are at your door wondering why your budget is blown and your mechanically finished game is taking longer than expected, I doubt they were jumping with joy that their guaranteed metalhead success was now a shitty RTS

Hopefully his soul can rest easy knowing that he managed to accomplish one last tour. It could have been the thing that kept him going, too.
>>716166825
Its playable, and thankfully poorly balanced enough that you can zerg through it lickety split, but it's still fucking awful and like half to 2/3rds of the game
>>716165140
Anon, you have it backwards.
They were always making an RTS game. That's the heart and soul of the game. It was EA execs that told them you can't sell a fucking RTS game and they'll have to tack on some hero-only gameplay bits to use in marketing.
Read up on the game's development before spouting shit.
>>716168207 >Promoting mainstream cookie-cutter bullshit instead of imperfect soul and passion. >In a metal thread of all places.
Get the fuck out, anon.

I will never understand this goy worshipper mindset when it comes to the death of famous people.
Like did they expect them not to die? Especially when they are old and drug addled as fuck?
It just baffles me.
Literally everyone dies, but because certain ones did *thing* we must mourn and worship and act like the most groundbreaking thing just happened.

It was supposed to be a classic point and click game, but when the kickstarter got way more money than Tim was expecting he figured well let's do a larger one. He then wanted a game that was purely done in the art style of one of his colleagues, Nathan Stapely. The project was mismanaged, and it turns out one artist cannot do all the art for a high quality point and click game in one year. Time and money were running out and their finance guy pitched the idea of splitting the game in two, to use sales of part 1 to finish part 2. Eventually the game was finally forced out.
>>716166825
The RTS parts are definitely "Who the fuck thought this was a good idea?" tier, but everything around is is fun, especially if you're a metalhead.
>>716169832
No, the game barely came out as it is. Part two is just the second half of the game. It was branded part 1 and part 2 so people didn't go apeshit of having to pay twice for one game. They didn't have the time or money to release it as a complete game, so they marketed it as two parts.
Broken Age part 1 - OOT Young Link
Broken Age part 2 - OOT Adult Link
>>716169832
No, they released half the game and eventually delivered the second half later.
It's funny; I played through both parts but I can't remember for the life of me anything that happened in that game.
Everythign about this game is soulless trash only a poser could come up with
>world supposed to be a living breathing metal cover, yet its empty and nothing to do in it >Black is a walking cringy cliche >story can be summarized in 2 sentences >cameos are completely underutalized >everything "cool" is frontloaded into teh first hour of the game
This game is as "metal" as the last Metallica album.

A hack and slash action adventure spiritual successor. No RTS shit. Something like Darksiders or Zelda mixed with PS2 era action, dungeons, several weapons. Keep the overworld and the car. More monsters and enemies. More variety in the soundtrack and world from different metal genres.
>>716166825
Yes, it's still enjoyable overall despite those parts.
>>716173343
Even then some of the tracks weren't ideal, there's a few picks that feel like they intentionally chose lesser known songs
A. Because it's obviously cheaper and
B. As some kind of humblebrag
>>716173436
i appreciate the soundtrack not just being a shitty guitar hero esque dadmetal compilation. For example, 3 Inches of Blood being on there ruled.
>>716173592
Yeah, it's not terrible, just weird shit like not one singular Iron Maiden track or just one Slayer track but 4 Judas priest tracks and 2 Tenacious D tracks(gee wonder why)
>>716174494
I'm not the biggest iron maiden fan, I think most of their music is very samey, but I still can't fathom not having at least one track from them in your love letter to metalheads game. I also think glamrock and power metal needed more representation as much as certain sects love to hate them
>>716164498
By not allowing EA to cut HALF OF THE FUCKING GAME during the production. Also by telling Tim to fuck himself when he told all of his team to change the final story arc at the last second and cut out the Lita romance with Eddie just because he didn't like her character
