I miss the Overwatch hysteria of 2016/2017 back when literally everyone was playing this shit.

Yeah but what about esports? Don't you think we should balance the game around esports?
Surely games should be designed around the 0.5% of people who autisticly find the most optimized way to play, right?

This. That open beta and the first few months after launch were incredible. Then everything became gay, you werent allowed to run whatever team you wanted, Kaplan left. That heyday of open/launch Overwatch is never coming back. Probably the greatest online gaming experience of the past 10 years, RIP. i havent fired up the game since like 2018. Absolutely stellar porn at least.

I went to a con in 2018 where there was this conslut cosplaying as witch mercy. I can still vividly picture her asscheeks sticking out from underneath her definitely not game accurate outfit. I followed her around the floor for a bit and just watched her ass jiggle then went to a bathroom and jerked off. I regret not taking a creepshot to this day.

the only way to bring back overwatch's success even beyond this peak is if they turn it in a dating sim h-game.

Ex-cosplayer here. A lot of them have varying levels of histrionic personality disorder. It’s the same reason a lot of people get into streaming/vtubing. Cosplay is one of those things that can give you a ticket to instant fame if your cosplay goes viral. Like that one faggot Joker cosplayer. Or Jessica Nigri’s pikachu cosplay. Basically one photo can turn you into an internet celebrity and you can springboard that into other online ventures, some that can make money. Or at the very least get you internet famous.

Cosplayers are also typically very autistic. They're the type of autists who are very loud and don't understand social norms, which can make them come across as confident when in reality they're just as clueless as any other aspie. They still struggle with socializing and striking up conversations with new people. Cosplay serves to bridge that social gap letting you walk around essentially wearing a giant sign that says "I LIKE THIS GAME/MOVIE/ANIME, PLEASE TALK TO ME IF YOU ALSO LIKE IT".

>Cosplay is one of those things that can give you a ticket to instant fame if your cosplay goes viral
Not really true anymore. Cosplay has become too widespread and it's become virtually inseparable from porn at this point. The majority of "famous" cosplayers online are just onlyfans girls wearing spandex from china printed with something that loosely resembles a character's costume.
>Or Jessica Nigri’s pikachu cosplay
Case in point, remember when Jessica Nigri used to be the biggest name in cosplay? It's because she was the most prolific fab bait cosplayer. If you wanted to jerk off to a specific character you had to hope that either A) there was actually decent hand drawn porn of that character online and not weird DeviantArt fetish shit, or B) that someone (likely Jessica Nigri) had done a photoshoot as that character. Nowadays you can google virtually any remotely popular female character from any series and find at least a handful of girls cosplaying her and probably a porn video too.

It adds to your value as a human being. Look at a guy like Ed Sheeran. If it wasn’t for his musical abilities and the fame and money that comes with it women would probably roll their eyes and call him a chubby incel. But because he’s rich and famous most women would kill to date him. Fame is like social currency. It gets you shit you normally wouldn’t have access to.
