We've been in a recession for awhile now.
Idiots will say there is no recession, below average people will say we've been in a recession since 2024, midwits will say we've been in a recession since 2020, and people who actually pay attention will realize that we never actually left the 2007/2008 recession.
Retards think line go up = economy guder, ignoring all the warning signs of an economy that's basically never going to recover.

It's always 'troubling' results for their financials because they're milking people with micro transactions very often. So whenever it's a hard quarter for them, just keep in mind it's just losses on predatory industry practices like some kind of in game feature that pushes players into spending money. Perhaps it wasn't trouble a while ago, but it was inevitably that it was going to result in a bad quarter because people get tired of it.

Ubisoft could drop a literal golden turd and still report โ€œmixed resultsโ€ as long as Skull & Bones hits their NFT quota or whatever they're shilling now. The execs aren't aiming for good games anymore, they're aiming for recurring revenue streams they can sell to shareholders in quarterly calls.

Itโ€™s clear that the cheap and shitty โ€œUbisoft formulaโ€ is dated now. No one cares about generic boring stories with generic boring characters. No one cares about the mindless and easy gameplay without any depth. No one cares about the incredibly blatant and soulless skinner box format that feels like a single player MMO. Just make good games and not this shit that feels so corporate and by the numbers

>shadows cost $100,000,000+ but Yves refused to give any specifics because apparently that information isn't important to share holders
>flatly ignored inquires into how many units shadows or outlaws sold with the only explanation regarding outlaws poor performance basically being Yves trying to blame Disney for driving the IP into the dirt before they released their game that people had been saying looked like uninteresting shit for years prior to its release
so as a shareholder who meaningfully invests into a company what information are you actually entitled? how is it that Ubisoft can be from all appearances a rapidly sinking company and yet nobody can get a single piece of information that details exactly how badly the company is bleeding or by how much they are missing projections.

Ubisoft reputation is permanently stained. Even if they release a genuinely good or experimental game, even the dumbest normie now associates Ubisoft with extremely repetitive mediocre goyslop. I don't know how they can recover really. If I were the CEO I would force a rebranding of the company and make them become a studio that works very long to make each game and promises quality and uniqueness with each of them, instead of just rapidly firing a bunch of slop everyone forgets immedaitely.

this, assassins creed was the ultimate wagie game, very easy to just come home after a day of work and just slop through it over two to three weeks. But they got so greedy, so complacent in churning that shit out year after year with ezios games onward, rebooting farcy into the same thing as well. Then sprinkling just the most dogshit microtransactions at the time on top. And it's funny because while I never messed with it their multiplayer in AC seemed to have a good amount of buzz and they just went and fucked it up lol.

Were more in a depression than a recession at this point. Just between 2001 to now money is almost worth half as much, and governments are still mass importing foreigners to keep wages low, and every time to save the economy they mass print cash, which just devalues cash and makes everyones wages worth less. Its gotten to a point where I feel like everyones trying to pretend to not see the elephant in the room because if they do they need to come to terms with how fucked we really are.

If they say players, then their game's a failure

They need to revive their franchises with a Far Cry 2 to Far Cry 3 like jump. Or even what they did with Origins/Odyssey.

The problem is that at the time Far Cry 3 happened, they were borrowing concepts from other popular games. Which they are still doing now...but it doesn't seem like the current hot trends really suit their properties.

wages have stagnated and costs have gone up, classic recession signs.

its honestly impressive how bad wages have stagnated, like compared to profits brought in, companies are now paying fucking nothing to their employee's compared to 20 to 30 years ago.

Well blackrock and their shell corporations own stock in ubisoft and tencent who has a lot of stock. Larry said he punishes individual employees of companies for not meeting esg goals which explains why these companies keep pushing divisive propaganda no matter what happens with the sales. You personally can get voted out of your job if the shareholders demand it so of course you're gonna do whatever keeps your job even if the company as a whole tanks.
Odd thing about ubisoft is that guys family owns a shit of the company so I assume he's way more resistant to esg pressure, maybe he really is just committed to the propaganda.

I don't have to do anything "about it".

if eventually 60% of people in American can't afford houses and kids, it all collapses, you can bring Pajeets or w/e over all you want, they'll just be in a worse position, they are building shithole houses like you wouldn't believe, and none of them are in anyone but the top 35% price range.
65% of people now are just doggy paddling through life, some might be on the "high end" of renters in terms of income, but still, its a joke.
eventually so few people can buy anything that they are churning out, and so few people can afford to have kids, it collapses, simple as, no one needs to "do" anything violent about any of it.

funny thing is videogame software where one of the few things not effected by the 2008 recession (the other thing was DVD sales), that year still saw record profits in the industry.
You know why, because in a time of recession the one industry that suffers most is the service industry, people visit less museums or movie theathers, go out to restaurants or a theme park. but vidya was till very much product driven in 2008, you bought a game and thats it, you had dozens of them in discount
now fast forward to today, and guess how turning from a goods based industry to service based has impacted videogames in this new recession

Yes, and with the tariffs being kicked down the road until Trump finally shits on the pot for America, it's over.

Japan is the dam breaking, see: Crisis, Rice. To where the Prime Minister and his party has taken a beating and the PM is being forced out because he didn't fix the rice prices being inflated.

Everyone can't afford shit all around the world, essentially and as soon as Japan finally admits it, it's going to get REAL bad for the rest of the world because they're in a similar-ish situation of trying to hide it.

Let's say, your mom cleans out the cat litter, fresh and stale doody pebbles go right in the bottom of the bag. Then your sister throws out her used tampons, and where do they go? In the same bag. Then your brother comes home piss-ass drunk, just upchucks, pukes right in the bag. Now, I'm not trying to be disgusting, but that is a realistic situation and what it all comes down to is that is a NASTY bag.
