I thought Xbox would finally get an amazing open world RPG to compete with Sony Rpgs like Horizon and Ghost of Yotei, and Nintendo games like Zelda snd Xenoblade but Fable is in development hell.

For anyone who don't know the shit about this, it wasn't even a Fable game originally. It was an original IP, citing Dragon's Dogma and Horizon Zero Dawn as its primary influences, Playground pitched to multiple publishers (including Sony apparently) that was rejected until Microsoft picked it up. Despite being in desperate need of AAA single-player content and with Phil having egg on his face about the Scalebound/Zelda/HZD thing, they didn't have enough faith in it to accept it unless Playground retooled it into a Fable reboot.

They purposefully made her uglier in the first trailer. They walked that back with the consequent trailer(s) but the problem is that the model wasn't that pretty to begin with. I dunno fable has always been ugly but in a cartoonish way, I guess it's too realistic now.

I thought this was a pretty solid game. It wasn't life changing, but I enjoyed arquebus and dual pistols and the different gods were neat. I've never played POE so I'd probably like it even more with more of a lore dump background.

After you consider it was a salvage operation(the game was reworked during the development and it wasn't going well so this is the second rework that was meant to at least get a working product) it becomes clear why the game is the way it is and as such I guess if you're bored and want some first person RPG to play you can do worse but you can also do better.

Yes but a lot of them were devs from studios that weren't delivering anything which oh yeah did you know this fable is like 4th time they're making new fable from scratch? I remember thinking Fable Legends may be nice back on 2013, so chances are microsoft looked at what these people had done so far and told them to come up with a plan of how to release a(not the game) game at all and that was the plan.

Kinda. But there is no character creator. In the first game you can't even play as female. There are lots of hair and tattoos in shop and you can make your character muscular or fat trough the game but you can't change your character look beyond that.
